Many of the early bulbs. Between now and mid march you should be able to see Daphne, Hamamelis mollis, Viburnum bodnantense, etc, many of these spring shrubs have a rich scent. Don't forget the beautiful winter stems such as cornus, Rubus and Betula.

We were there mid-April last year, and had already missed the huge flush of tulips, daffodils, and early flowers, but there were tons of shrubs, trees, fruit trees, and flowers in bloom, many I can't name because they don't grow in the desert, where I live. I had only been there in September before, which was lovely, but the spring bloom was amazing! It was also lambing season --one of our greatest pleasures there was sitting with a cool drink, on a warm day, on a stone wall at the edge of the gardens, watching the Lambs frolicking. it was sublime! We had clear weather for the 2 weeks we were in the area, so we probably saw the gardens at their best.

Sorry we have not been there in March. I think you will see spring bulbs in flower and some of the blossom appearing on trees.

I haven't been there in the Spring but I would guess spring bulbs & flowering shrubs. I would try ringing the gardens nearer to the time as our weather is so variable & check what is likely to be at thier best at that time this year.

Spring bulbs, limited amount of spring flowering trees, possibly some growth in the greenhouse, and the emerging green structure of the full garden.
