I would not reccommend you renting a car. It is an authentic 400 year old city not build for cars. There is å shuttlebus that carries you down to the City center approximateli each 15 min that we used all the time.

Car Hire Necessary for 2 Full Days Here?

Hi we are travelling from Cannes to Cagnard for 3 nights then onto Nice. Can we fully occupy ourselves locally?

Or do we need a hire car?

We found it very easy to explore without a car. In fact, it would perhaps have been an inconvenience to have a car.

It is only a short taxi journey from the airport (Uber €22) and as previously conveyed, the coast is well connected by a reliable rail service.

If you are fit you can walk easily. There is a shuttle that will take you to Haut de Cagnes. And to move up and down the coast there are buses and also Uber

Hi--I didn't have a car and it is wonderful to explore on foot. It is a small area surrounding the hotel + castle. Nevertheless, should you want to head to the more lively part of town, there is a free bus that you can pick up behind the Castle. It truly is magical and you do not need a car. Lastly, the caretaker at Le Chateau made himself available to take us to and from the train station--and we thanked him with customary tips as our appreciation.

Hi Leanne, this is a small place and easy to explore by walking. We had to park the car before going to the hotel, but we were picked up from the hotel car . I think that you can get there by bus also. It's worth the visit , but narrow and hard to get around by car. It's not far from the airport .

Enjoy your stay ☀️

If you simply want to explore the medieval village of Haut de Cagnes then you do not need a car, in fact it would be a disadvantage as the streets are very narrow.

If you want to go further, then you could get a bus down in to Cagnes sur Mer and presumably onwards, say to Nice or Cannes, or along the coast..... but if you want to explore northwards say towards Vence and Tourettes, a car is a 'must.' They are well worth a visit so do get a car!!

Hello

there are plenty of busses and trains that will take you to most places. I usually rent a car anyway but I don't feel you need it unless you are looking to see the countryside.
