Our room had been recently renovated/updated. I recall that they did have tea/hot drink facilities in the room--and a very nice refrigerator that was kept quite cool. At least, they did have these in our room. We had no problem with the beds. We did use a room that had two singles--not a double or king. It may be that what the reviewer experienced was the European double--two singles moved together to make a double. That might give a depression in the middle. We found this arrangement to be pretty standard in the more modern European hotels and on board river cruises too. It keeps the rooms more flexible and can be varied for different guests. Our beds in this hotel were great. No problem sleeping.

The rooms do have tea and coffee making facilities. As for the beds, I cannot confirm what they were made of, however ours did have a dip in the middle which meant we both ended up in the middle of the bed. We did have a lovely stay at this Hotel and the central location is so convenient.
