Why when I booked my holiday in May 2013 have I just had it cancelled, 2 weeks before travelling, because you are apparently 'overbooked'?
We are very sorry for the unfortunate event which occurred with your booking at our Louis Creta Princess. As you know we did reply to your letter and e-mail, offering you the opportunity to still spend your daytime and all meals at the Louis Creta Princess. In this case we would have arranged for a daily complimentary transfer to and from the hotel you stayed in, as well as complimentary full day use of all our facilities, restaurants and bars. We also left a message to the hotel you stayed at in Chania, in an effort to speak to you personally, but you never replied to our messages.
We again apologize for causing you so much trouble and we hope that your holiday in Chania was still pleasant. The opportunity to welcome you at Louis Hotels in the future would be nothing short of an honour.

Yes, you did answer eventually and did make the offer as you say. However, to travel daily to the hotel we should have been staying in would have been too disruptive to a relaxing holiday. My husband has health problems and daily travel would not have been in his best interests. We still have not had an answer as to why having booked a room in your hotel some 15 months prior to travelling we then had our holiday cancelled by Louis Hotels. We are aware that another family were cancelled at the same time as us and then were reinstated.
Get an answer from Louis Creta Princess Beach Hotel staff and past guests.
