Hi. What is the snorkelling like at this beach? And is there a sandy beach nearby?
Hi, THere isn't what most people would describe a sandy beach. Nobody sits on it - they just sit around by the side of the resort's pool (which also had lots of broken beer bottles in the 3inches of sand!) Just about 3m of sand interspersed with rock at low tide. Biggest concern is the amount of broken beer bottles on the 'beach'. These are from the resort because they don't clear them up - they have not washed up from further away as they are still razor sharp. I collected bits up several days, but hardly made an impression.
The coral is completely dead - no colour whatsoever. That's global warming's fault, though. THere are some smaller fish around and the bright blue starfish, but you are warned against swimming out over the point where it gets deep - unlike in some places like Samoa. I still enjoyed snorkelling, but it was not as good as any other Pacific Island we've been too.
Hope that helps.
