Tangalooma Island Resort Dolphin Feeding Questions & Answers

Sydney, Australia

This there a minimum age for feeding the dolphins.. My son is three and he loves dolphins and would love the opportunity to feed them. But I want to know if he’s old enough before booking the trip.

Hi Katie,

Small children can feed the dolphins, they just need to be carried out and fully supervised by an adult. This is conditional on weather of course as (depending on tides) we can have strong waves through the feeding area when we have strong westerly winds.

my daughter was 5 1st time we did this and she fed Tinkerbell herself! think 3 may be a bit young to actually feed them. but to be with you would be an experience!

I seen small children being carried by their parents, not sure if they were actually feeding the dolphins though.

Hi you would probably have to hold him in your arms and reach down with him to feed the dolphin. The water is around a metre deep when they. One in but it is also tidal so can increase. The staff are helpful and enter the water each time with you so will support you

I’m not 100% sure but when we fed the dolphins a couple of weeks ago I saw many small children in the line for the feeding. You have to go out into the water to feed but I think small children could be carried or lifted so they could feed. The staff are oh so friendly so give them a call and ask.
