Hi, could anyone advise me about where Hang Gai St is in relation to the "old Quarter?"
I agree with all the other posters: Hang Gai Street is within the Old Quarter.
Yes indeed they are all correct, well worth a visit.
It is part of Old qtr only. All the streets are within 5 mins by a leisurely walk. Enjoy your vvacation
Smack bang in the middle of the old quarter and for me a must see, yes it is crowded and noisy, bustling and lively and also rich in character and shopping so barter and hunt for bargains.
Yeah, Hanoi old Quater has a lot of streets, inlcuding Hang Gai Street or Gai Street. This street directly lead to Hoan Kiem Lake (Sword Lake with sword-returning-for-The Great Turrtle-legend). This Street is also famous for sovenirs such as clothes, picturers, colorful bowls, old stores with masks, flags of countries, badges, traditional foods.....In my opinion, Hang gai Street is a wonderful connection to other great streets in Old Quater because from hang gai Street, you can enjoy food, go to the Catholics, buy souvenirs in other streets also. This is one of my favorite street, frankly.
Yes. Same area. Same location. I am quite sure wherever you wish to go is within walking distance.
It is at the Northern edge of the Lake - Hang Gai extends into Hang Bong. If you end up anywhere near to the Cathedral -Hang Gai is a short walk away.
Hi, Penhem, Hang Gai street is smack bang in the old quarter. If you google the Golden Silk Hotel, which is where we stayed on Hang Gai street, you will find a location map. There are several hotels, silk shops and boutiques as well.
