Bloomington, Illinois

How much extra money will we need to cross the border, get visas, etc.? I assume that is not included in the price?

This is from the Abraham Tours website:

Border taxes – PAYABLE ONLY IN CASH:

- Israeli exit fee of 107 ILS, payable with ILS, USD or EUR.

- Jordanian visa fee of 40 Jordanian Dinar, payable only cash JOD (there is an option to exchange while crossing into Jordan, on the Jordanian side);

- Jordanian exit fee of 10 Jordanian Dinar, payable only cash JOD

Our Jordanian tour guide collected the 50 dinar at the beginning so no worries when exiting.

The rest stops in Jordan accepted USD or Euros for water, coffee, snacks, souvenirs. Beverages in the restaurants are an extra charge. You can use any extra dinar as tip for the driver and guide.

Thanks all, so I guess it seems like we do not need to get visas first (we are US citizens), but that we will at least need an extra $75 in addition to the $500 / person charge.

I agree that Abraham Tours was excellent. It cost about 50 Jordanian Dinar to enter and then exit Jordan. At the time of my trip a Dinar was about 1.5 USD or a total of about 75 USD. I agree that extra money is needed for tips and stuff.

Hi you need about 120 shekels to enter Jordan and leave Israel and 40 dinar when you get to Jordan. If you go with Abraham tours they will take care of everything for you at the borders. You can change money at Jordanian border also. I would recommend Abraham tours as everything included in the price ie all meals and accommodation and tours. I would recommend having US dollars for tips etc as Jordanians prefer them. 1$ equals 1 dinar.

You are in for a most wonderful trip. Enjoy!

Check out abrahamtours site , they have all fees listed. also get their app- it’s very helpful. You’ll need shekels for exit fee from Israel and Jordan, cash only to pay entrance and exit fees. On Israel side you can use credit card to pay all fees and even buy Dinars. Buy Jordanian Dinars during border crossing with cash shekels. I paid with AmEx but cash is better.
