What is the bed height (mattress to floor) in wheel chair accessible rooms? and is there a space between the bed and the floor for a mechanical lift? Thank you.
Thank you for your question!
We double checked the measurements with our team and below is what you can expect in our wheelchair accessible room:
Mattress is 26" from the floor. The box spring is lifted 7" from the floor, so there is a 7" gap between the bed and the floor.
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We look forward to seeing you!
I just saw the hotel responded to you. This is not something I would know about. I do know they have handicapped access since I knew two persons using wheelchairs who attended seminars there and I saw them taking elevators up to their room.
They also have ramps on the ground floor.
I would call the hotel directly or the Marriott #800 number and ask them the same questions about the bed and the availability of accessible rooms and any other special requirements you might have. The hotel is very accessible as are all of its facilities with the convention center being accessible too. The public transit system, BART and its' stations are as well but check on line to be sure about which entrance might be best to use etc since it is an easy and less expensive transit option.
I would suggest you contact the hotel for that kind of information. Usually hotels like the Marriott will have handicapped access rooms. The hotel and convention center is definitely easy access with ramps to access different areas like the convention center and the restaurant.
