This hotel used to have a reputation as a gay-oriented hotel. Is that (or was it) valid for people who are looking for a gay friendly property? Thank you.
They do have a gay pool party in one of the pools of. Sunday in summer which I had a blast at and I'm not gay. What difference does? Other hotels have similar parties
My late son loved the Luxor. I live here. When he was alive we went there with gay friends and all was fine. He's gay. I never had any problems anywhere whether with a gay person or not. My most recent visit was for a meeting. I hope you enjoy your visit.
Parking is both self and valet.
I don't know why the Luxor got the reputation as being a gay oriented hotel and if it were, it wouldn't bother me in the least. We were gone so much of the time seeing the sights and shows that we were hardly in our room, only to shower and sleep. When we were at the hotel, the employees were very nice and hospitable and because there were so many other guests staying there, you would never know if it were a gay oriented. I think there is a LGBT nightclub at the Luxor, but my husband and I never went to any nightclubs here or at any other casinos/hotels.
There is at least one club that is open to the LGBT community. As for parking there is free valet parking, but you should tip the drivers, plus there is free self parking.
I've stayed there twice in the past year and I did not see any remnants of that type of property.
No didnt see any that stood out or anything. ...
A few years ago...and like all Vegas resorts, took a financial hit with lack of customers. since then it has been completely remodeled, including the common areas such as the casino.... which I have made thousands on. I would never stay in a Pyramid room. but our rooms are much better, and you are always just steps away from the elevator.
Regarding being a gay hotel. they do advertise as being gay friendly in GLBT media more than any other resort. besides the sunday swim party, this is not a gay Mecca in any way. There is no on-site gay bar and most of the guests are what you would find in any of the resorts. I used to stay only at the Palazzo or the MGM, but rediscovered Luxor and how much fun it is. if you book your room three VIP marketing, you will get comped rooms and the ones you pay for like $28. and these are very nice rooms with flat screen TVs, great beds and much bigger than the standard rooms.
