Tahiti Village Questions & Answers

Cortez, Colorado

I booked an Oct. vacation at Tahiti with my sister through the Armed Forces Vacation Club. My sister has limited mobility. Will you be able to accommodate this? Maybe a room close to the elevators. Also we booked a one bedroom. Hoe do we know what room we will be getting? Thank you in advance! Can't wait!!

Hello, nizhoni57. We can definitely accommodate you and your sister. Can you tell me if you'll be requiring a handicapped-accessible room or a standard unit? A percentage of our one-bedroom units (the Moorea and Bora Bora) are equipped to meet the needs of those requiring special assistance. The handicapped-accessible rooms differ slightly from the standard units. The handicapped-accessible Bora Bora unit offers a roll-in shower but is missing two premium amenities, the steam shower and jetted tub. The handicapped-accessible Moorea also has a roll-in shower. There are also some slight modications in the design of the rooms to better accommodate wheelchairs. Although you have already contacted the resort with your request, I would also recommend contacting our reservations department at 800-775-8463. They will make sure to include your room type and location request on your reservation. Thank you for staying at Tahiti Village. We hope you have a great time!

I would definitely phone the resort and explain your situation. The elevators are situated in the centre of the main building, with long corridors of suites faning out in all directions from this centre. These corridors can be quite long, so you will want to have a suite that is closer to the elevators rather than further away. I did see a review on this site from a disabled person who unfortunately was placed at the far end of one of these corridors and found the trek back and forth to the elevators to be quite long. If the front desk/ reservation people know of your situation well in advance, I would think they could place you in a suite closer to the centre.

There is wide sidewalks to all the building and lobby .

The room assignment isn't given till you arrive but

I believe they can accommodate to special situations as far

As room location is concerned. The shuttle

Bus to the strip also has a lift for wheelchairs .

Hope this helps.
