Steele Hill Resorts Questions & Answers

Warwick, Rhode Island

We have JUST RETURNED from Steele Hill on July 3, 2014. We did not have any trouble finding the resort mainly due to signage provided by the resort. Forget your GPS in the mountains. We did enjoy our stay of 7 days with a few exceptions. We were NOT staying in the newest part for we did have room keys which was not a bad thing but there was a separate couch that needed replacing and a separate bed(couch) which we did not use but was obviously OLD. I was totally surprised that there was an AC unit for the kitchen parlor but NONE in the bedroom, only a fan. The stove in the kitchen needs replacing, the numbers on the dial for temperature were NOT readable. We had to call security because someone was knocking at our door and running away, late at night, Room 215. We have stayed in many vacation spots of this kind and this property was just average. We traded an on the beach property for this and it was NOT comparable. If we had been placed in the newer section, I believe we would have been happier. We are long term Wyndham owners and this room was just average or maybe even less. Would stay again but only in the new section, WEST

I don't see an actual question here. I cannot comment on the AC as we were there in late fall and AC was not necessary. The kitchen was very outdated, as was the bathroom. Definitely needed an upgrade and at the very least, a paint job with some lighter coloured paint. Everything seemed to be painted a bilious shade of banana yellow. I think we were in unit 218. Because it was off-season the resort was not crowded but I had heard that it does get pretty rowdy in the peak times during the summer so I'm not surprised to hear of kids knocking on their door and running away. The location is lovely and does compensate for the shortfalls of the resort itself.

I was asked if I might answer a question but do not see an actual question. I cannot really comment on the section this traveler stayed in, which as they commented was the older portion of Steele Hill. We have always stayed in the West part of the resort which is newer and I know this past year a great deal of upgrading was accomplished. The AC is throughout the units, both upstairs and down.

Definitely would recommend requesting Steele Hill West for a follow-up visit.
