What is the power situation like for charging ipad/camera batteries? Do you provide converter and plug adapters for American electronics or do we need to bring our own? If we need to bring them, what style plug do you have?
Chitabe Camp and most Wilderness camps in Botswana have 220V multi-plug adaptor points in the rooms which can be used to charge batteries, mobile devises and sleep apnoea machines. Although we do supply universal points in camp it is advisable to bring an additional one with you as a back-up for any other hotels or properties you may be staying at during your journey through Southern Africa.
The plug types used through Southern Africa are either round 2 pin or round 3 pin. We have also just loaded a photo for you to see what these multi-plug points look like under the management photo tab. Hope this helps and we look forward to welcoming you into camp soon.
There is plenty of power available for charging. The tents have strip outlets with US 2 prong plugs and USB ports. I don't recall which adapter I used as I brought an adapter kit with me. Just GOOGLE "current adapter Botswana".
I'm like Jorge -- BTW, we were at the camp with him. I don't recall, but I did take 2 of our own adapters and remember not needing extras. We went to 4 camps as well.
