I will be staying at the Mayflower Park Hotel this weekend. Do you have any recommendations for casual restaurants (jeans are ok) that are within walking distance? Thanks in advance!
Please feel free to contact us directly for suggestions and dinner reservations. Seattle is for the most part pretty casual for dining and jeans are acceptable in many, many restaurants. Even in our own Andaluca which is Mediterranean !!! We have all types of restaurants in the city, We can point you in the right direction for the cuisine and ambiance you are looking for. So please stop by and see us!

Hi! This is the Concierge at the Mayflower Park Hotel. Please feel free to contact us directly for suggestions and dinner reservations. You could easily walk to the Owl & Thistle Irish Pub: casual atmosphere and great happy hours. 808 Post Ave. Or, a great place we recently found (not within walking distance): Coastal Kitchen 429 - 15th Ave. East.
We went to the space needle, which is in walking distance of the Mayflower Park, and took the advice to eat in the restaurant there. The food and views were excellent. However, as we were there in the summertime you would either have to bring your mealtime forward in the day or see Seattle at night ( which I believe is worth seeing, but you wouldn't then have the magnificent views of Mt Rainier ).We booked an hour ahead. We didn't dress up - just smart tourist wear. We understand the hotel restaurant is good ,but didn't eat there.
There are very few restaurants in Seattle where you can't wear jeans. As noted, Andaluca is right in the hotel, but as you are in the heart of downtown, there are eating options in every direction, many quite casual. The hotel can also offer you ideas and directions when you are there. You are right next to Westlake Center and walking distance to the Pike Market.
I read all of the answers to your question and they hit the nail on the head. The Mayflower is in a perfect downtown location for walking access to the many eating choices at the Market as well as the downtown area. The hotel restaurant is not only exceptional, but the atmosphere is just as nice. You can't go wrong. If in doubt about dress code, just ask the concierge. However, this is Seattle and the city is known for its casual dress.
Oh gosh there are so many eateries within walking distance. Two that we enjoyed are Serious Pie, one of the best pizza's you'll eat. And Bacco Cafe, which is a quaint little place close to Pike Place.
Can't agree with John M enough, I thought Andaluca was very good. If you dress those jeans with a nice shirt you will be fine. Also if you review Andaluca you will see that it has great reviews.
We walked to the Market and chose a little restaurant for lunch. He wanted to try their Fish & Chips. Sorry can't remember the name, can't remember the food but the Views were great!
We also went to Serious Pie on the recommendation of the Concierge. There were 4 of us and not a complaint was heard!
I ate a couple of times at Mayflower's restaurants. On my return from my Alaskan tour, with National Geographic I stayed at the Mayflower Hotel again.
Unfortunately, I came back with a a cold - not being in the mood for eating out I bought away type of foods and drinks from the Whole Foods Grocery store, not too far away and accessible via public transport.
Seattle is a rather casual and relaxed city - a hub for cursing ships to Alaska. A pair of smart jeans can be used day and night with a smart top and scarf.
Like John M we ate at Anduluca the hotel restaurant. Very nice food, good service staff and reasonable value. Jeans and or tourist clothes would be fine. Didn't sample the paella but the salmon was beautiful
The restaurant on site (Andaluca) is casual enough - we ate there one night and wore (smart) jeans and a button-down shirt - and I can't recommend the paella enough! You will get a discount voucher on check-in.
For something more casual, Serious Pie (316 Virginia) is an amazing Pizza place just one block away from the hotel.
