I will arrive at Malpensa airport 7.40 am and leave Italy at 8 am next morning (which means that I should be at the airport around 6). Is it possible to ask for a free transfer to and from the hotel and how can it be managed? I will maybe arrive back to the hotel late on Saturday from the city. May I get the transfer from the train station in this case as well?
It might be more reasonable to call the hotel and check with them directly your possibilities and eventual charges. Normaly, pick up and drop off transfer from and to hotel are free of charge. Any extra one must be checked,
The hotel's shuttle van picked me up at Malpensa around 9:00PM and dropped me off there the following morning around 8:30AM, no charge. You should email them to set this up, and to find out how early they could get you to Malpensa. They will probably tell you to phone them when you arrive Malpensa (from a pay phone if you don't have a mobile). For pickup, you need to step outside the arrival hall and walk to the right to the very end (doorway 10 I think).
To get to and from Milan city, it's probably simplest for you to use the express shuttle services between Malpensa and Milan Train Station. There is both bus and train service. I used bus, but train might be faster during rush hour?? Then you could use the hotel shuttle to and from Malpensa as above.
There is a train station close to the hotel, but I think it is on a commuter system that is slower and may involve change(s) between the center of Milan and this station. Of course the Malpensa express does not stop there.
