Arriving in Varadero

There are many cheap flights to Varadero, not to mention all-inclusive deals, thanks to its popularity among vacationers. Flights to Varadero are plentiful no matter what time of year you plan on traveling. Varadero flights arrive at Juan Gualberto Gomez Airport. Getting to your destination is a breeze since the airport is only 10-15 minutes away from most hotels and resorts. Taxis are available to take you where you need to go, but most hotel packages include transportation by bus to get you there.

Getting Around Varadero

Getting around Varadero is quite easy, especially if you are staying in a resort area. Probably the favorite mode of transportation among tourists is the Coco Taxi, more like a toy than real taxi. You can also hire a regular taxi or even take a horse drawn carriage. If you plan on venturing out of Varadero to tour more of the island, the Varadero Tourist Double Decker Bus is an inexpensive and convenient way to go. On this bus you pay one fare that lasts all day and you can hop on and off the bus as often as you'd like.

Veradero flights lead to the white sandy beaches of Varadero. These famed beaches are at the heart of Varadero's attractions. If you want to enjoy some family fun, check out Delfinario, located at Punta Hicacos National Park. Here you can watch a dolphin show and afterwards swim with the dolphins. If you want to explore the history and culture of Varadero then a visit to Museo Municipal de Varadero is in order.

Shopping, Dining, and Nightlife in Veradero

While you will be able to find many souvenirs and toiletries at the hotel and resort gift shops, or at the local markets, there is only one shopping mall in Varadero called Plaza America. The Plaza America is quite small and consists of a supermarket, a few clothing stores along with some other shops.

There are restaurants a plenty in Varadero including some authentic Cuban cuisine at favorite restaurants such as La Campana locate in Parque Josone.

You can't beat this fabulous sunny destination and will undoubtedly feel that the airfare to Varadero was worth every penny. Visitors to Varadero have many great "tourist only" entertainment spots to choose from; Havana Club, Rumba Club and Mambo Club, to name a few. If you want to enjoy nightlife Cuban style, check out local clubs like La Comparsita and Mediterraneo, for live music and cheap drinks.
