For extreme fun you could go skydiving, drive on a jungle safari, or take a horseback ride in the beautiful and rugged Sierra Madre mountain range.
Although, it isn't for everyone, there are traditional bullfights at the Toro Plaza bullring, or if you'd prefer to entertain the kids, the Splash Aquatic Park has plenty to keep them busy for an afternoon. There are also great deep-sea fishing charter tours available, or if you'd prefer to see them up-close, try a snorkelling or diving tour. Next to the Rio Cuale you'll find Puerto Vallarta's main flea market, selling a wide range of items, though there are many colourful shops dotted around the city that deal in local art and cultural items. Another flea market on the river is a great place to shop, but be prepared to learn the phrase "No, Gracias' when you're being followed by relentless salesmen. Cuale River Island is home to many small boutiques and great restaurants well worth the visit.
The Rhythms of the Night tour will give you a taste of traditional Mexican nightlife, and is highly recommended, if you can't find something to do in one of the many nightclubs and bars that are located in downtown Puerto Vallarta.
