What to expect at Benito Juarez International Airport

Flights to Mexico City arrive regularly from most cities in the world. The airport is located in the eastern part of the city and upon arrival you will go through Immigration, luggage retrieval and customs. The airport offers services such as currency conversion and licensed transport such as taxis known as Taxis Amarillos, Transportacion Terrestre or Yellow Cab Aeropuerto. It is best to buy tickets at the marked kiosks inside the airport. The Inter-terminal shuttle transfer system transports travellers between terminals. Red busses also travel between terminals but charge a fee.

Getting around in Mexico City

If you decide to go by bus, train or taxi, you will always have a way to get around in Mexico City. There are two types of bus services offered: the Microbuses and the government operated RTP. Bus routes are very flexible; tourists are advised to ask bus drivers if the bus will go to their destination. When choosing which bus service, it is better to select the RTP system as the buses are full size, more comfortable and probably safer than their microbus counterparts. If you would like to see the city another way, hop onto a Turibus. This is a double-decker bus that is dedicated to sightseeing and travels on a specific route. Some of the destinations on this route include Zona Rosa, Chapultepec Park and Roma the Historic Centre.
