Cheap flights to Toronto recently found by travellers
Arriving at Toronto

Flights to Toronto can be a little misleading as the airport is actually located in the city of Mississauga, some 20 miles away. The full name is Lester B. Pearson International, but it is commonly referred to as Toronto Pearson and is the largest in Canada. Terminal 1 caters to all European arrivals as well as domestic and trans-border flights. The surroundings are pleasing on the eye with many classic sculptures lending themselves nicely to the shops and cafes; making it a real cultural hub.

New arrivals on Toronto flights can transfer into the city via the airport rocket, the direct bus, found outside terminal 3. There are several other buses, which take a little longer, alternatively there is the taxi or limo option, both of these fares are set for consistency.

Getting Around Toronto

Travelling around the city is relatively straight forward, with a uniquely interlinked public transport system of buses, street-cars and subway trains. The street-cars are extremely frequent: approximately every 6 to 7 minutes, whilst the subway has 3 lines servicing the centre and outer districts. Taxis can be flagged down easily, and whilst bicycles can be a cracking way of seeing the city, it is fraught with danger, as the wheels regularly get stuck under the side-car tracks.

Attractions in Toronto

If any cheap flights to Toronto present themselves, they should be snapped up quickly, as there is so much to see and do in this fabulous city. The CN Tower dominates as the main landmark, standing nearly two thousand feet high. The walk on the 2.5 inche thick glass floor, 113 levels up, tests the nerve; as does the sky pod viewing area a further 33 floors higher. On a clear day the spray from Niagara Falls, some 62 miles away, can be seen. The Falls themselves have to be visited on any first time trip, as does the Onterio Science Center, which is full of fascinating experiments and interactive opportunities. The Royal Onterio Museum is worth a look, if only from the outside to see the outlandish exterior.

Shopping, Dining and Night Life in Toronto

Taking into account all of the city's leading sights, the fact that Eaton Center shopping Mall is regarded as the top tourist attraction, speaks volumes for the place. There are many fine boutiques along Bloor Street, with more exclusivity at the Hazelton Lanes. Whether the airfare to Toronto is pricey or a bargain, the dining in the city will make it worthwhile, with King Street being a favorite area. There are many establishments along this stretch including: Marcel's French Bistro, Kit Kat Italian Bar and Grill, and the Dhaba Indian restaurant.

The same street has several very popular night-spots such as: Atelier and For Your Eyes Only. Wayne Getzky's Sports Bar in the heart of the city always does well and the Comedy clubs attract great audiences. You'll have to make up your own mind, as to whether the same can be said of the acts!
