Main Attractions

Perpignan, with its interesting mix of French and Catalan cultures, is a wonderful destination for a quiet city break. Enjoy a stroll through the pedestrianised town centre and visit the striking Perpignan Cathedral. The cathedral features a mix of architectural styles, a result of centuries of extending and rebuilding. Just behind the cathedral is the Campo Santo, a beautifully preserved cloister cemetery. The Palais des Rois de Majorque is unmissable on its regal perch atop a hill overlooking the city. Built in the 13th century, the palace was the seat of the rulers of Majorca. Explore the palace’s gardens, or climb the Tour de l’Hommage for splendid views of the neighbouring Pyrenees range. Explore Le Castillet, once the main gate of the old town’s fortified walls. The little museum within – the Casa Pairal – has exhibits of Catalan folklore and culture.
