Arriving at Sydney Airport

Sydney Airport is served by the International, Domestic and Quantas terminals. International passengers disembarking from their flight to Sydney must clear customs and immigration. For entry to Australia, visitors must have a tourist visa and passport that is valid for 6 months beyond their planned stay. All international flights to Sydney use Terminal T1 where visitors will clear customers and immigration. Baby changing rooms are located in terminal T2 along with a chemist. Public showers are also available at all terminals and wheelchairs must be requested in advance in order to meet wheelchair-assisted passengers arriving on their flight to Sydney.

Transportation in and Around Sydney

Many transportation options are available upon arriving on your Sydney flight. Taxis are available at a sheltered taxi rank outside each terminal where curbside operators can help with baby carriers. Maxi taxis and station wagons are available if travelling in a group or for those travelling with lots of luggage. While booking your flight to Sydney, you might want to reserve a rental vehicle and book services on a limousine or a shuttle bus at the same time. There are bike racks conveniently located at all three terminals. In the greater Sydney Metropolitan area trains, buses and ferries provide a reliable and inexpensive way to get around.

Main Attractions

Buy a cheap flight to Sydney and enjoy a performance under the sails of the Sydney Opera House, Australia's multi-venue performing arts centre. Take an exhilarating trek across The Sydney Harbour Bridge, affectionately named by the locals “The Coat Hanger”, or cross the steel arch by train, car or bike. The tallest free standing structure, the Sydney Tower, as well as the Sydney Mint are both well worth a visit. Outdoor enthusiasts can get up close and personal with all the strange and exciting creatures in indoor recreations of their natural habitat, at the Sydney Wildlife World. See sharks feeding at a safe distance at the Sydney Aquarium, and for a lazy day at the beach visit Bondi Beach just 7 kilometres east of Sydney.

Shopping, Dining, and Nightlife

The Queen Victoria building is a one-stop shopping Mecca with a variety of shops and a concierge desk on the first floor with helpful friendly staff. If your ticket to Sydney is for the summertime, visit Manly where, on weekends, you will find local crafts men selling local handicrafts.

Enjoy culinary treats from world class restaurants like Rockpool located on Sydney Harbour or cheap eateries and Juice Bars at Bondi Beach. Have a romantic dinner at the stunning Icebergs Dining Room and Bar.

From the funky Fringe Bar to the stylish upscale Kinsela's Middlebar, Sydney's eclectic and pulsating nightlife provides entertainment to suit everyone. Theatre lovers can enjoy the best of Aussie theatre complete with authentic staging at the Old Fitzroy Theatre in Woolloomooloo. That experience alone is worth the airfares to Sydney.
