Getting Around Seoul

It is always more convenient to pre-arrange transport from the airport when you book your airfare to Seoul, but this is not mandatory. You may take the airport shuttle or one of the buses that have routes between the airport and Airport Town. Taxis are also plentiful, and the fares for short distances are reasonable. Like most Asian countries, Seoul has a modern subway that can take you anywhere on the island. The signs are written in both Korean and English, and you can purchase single fare cards through vending machines. Be aware that you will need two cards for a round-trip. It may be more convenient to buy a reloadable T-money card if you plan to use the subway a lot. You simply scan these cards as you enter the subway platforms. You may also ride around by ferry to see the waterfront areas of Seoul and traverse the island by train or bus.
