Airport Information

Flights to Columbus are served at the Port Columbus International Airport, which also offers direct flights to other major cities in the US. Columbus flights can be exhausting, but thankfully, the airport is only ten minutes away from town. A quick taxi ride to a hotel costs around $25 dollars. To get cheaper flights to Columbus, it is a good idea to book a flight directly to Dayton first. Airfare to Columbus can cost a lot of money, but cheaper tickets can be bought by booking ahead of schedule. Rates usually change so it is best to be updated with the latest rates online.

Getting Around

To get to the most important places in the area, you can take the COTA bus service. The buses are stationed conveniently, approximately 5 blocks from the most accessible locations. The service costs $1.75 for regular trips and $2.50 for express trips. Bus transfers are free of charge. Downtown Columbus is within walking distance and if you are in for a good exercise, this option is a must. If not, you can hire a car to get to the surrounding areas that cannot be easily accessed by foot alone. The good news is that the parking rates are affordably priced at $5.00 per vehicle.

Main Attractions

The COSI Columbus features learning and leisurely activities with its hands-on science exhibitions. Whether its genetics, the universe, or Star War, this place has it all. The Arena District is a new hotspot in the city, but is growing in popularity due to its highly entertaining sports and dining attractions. Up north, the Short North Arts District provides visitors with breathtaking architecture, art galleries, and eateries. If you are into nature then its best to head to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, places where you can see wildlife for real. Just along the way, you can drop by the Zoombezi Bay water park.

Shopping, Dining and Nightlife

For shoppers, the galleries at the Short North is a must-visit. For various organic foods and affordable gift items, head to the North Market. Alternatively, shop at the Wholly Craft! or the Milk Bar Boutique. If you go hungry, worry not because the city has over 6,000 licensed food providers. Just be sure to go to restaurants with green colour-coded signs that indicate that they have passed inspection. Examples include the Graffiti Burger, Max and Erma's, and Dragonfly. For a good nights drink, a few options include The Winking Lizard, the Char Bar, and the various bars in the Arena District.
