Airports in Seattle

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, known affectionately as Sea-Tac, is your landing point when you take a cheap flight to Seattle. This airport has every convenience for its passengers. There are luggage carts, services for the disabled, mp3 chargers, and even a place to send packages home. To leave the airport, you can ride public transportation, catch a shuttle, share a van, rent a car, or ride in a courtesy vehicle provided by your hotel. Rental car agencies include Alamo, Avis, Hertz, National, and Budget.

Getting Around in Seattle

If you plan to stay in the downtown area, the bus system is free weekdays from 6am to 7pm. The monorail is relatively inexpensive and convenient for city travel. Water taxis are available between April and October. Regular taxis run throughout the year. You can drive in Seattle but be warned that traffic is heavy and parking may be difficult. Parks and Gardens include the Japanese Garden, the Olympic Sculpture Park, and the Washington Park Arboretum among others. Seattle also offers the Woodland Zoo and the Seattle Aquarium. Depending on the time of year when you take a cheap flight to Seattle, you can go to Qwest field to watch the Seahawks play or watch the Mariners play at Safeco Field. 

Shopping, Dining, and Nightlife

There are so many shops and stores in the Seattle area so the difficulty will be choosing where to go. Seattle boasts department stores like Nordstrom's and Macy's. You'll be glad you didn't spend a lot on airfare to Seattle so you'll have more money to spend. Don't miss the Seattle Antique market or ‘Made in Washington' for unique items. Bellevue Center and Westlake are the malls you should look out for. For dining, Seattle is known for its seafood. Try Anthony's Pier 66 or Ivan's Salmon House. Celebrate Seattle's Asian immigrant history at the Tamarind Tree. You will also find American, Italian, and Pacific Rim restaurants. For nightlife, don't be put off by Seattle's reputation as the home of Grunge Rock. Try Dimitriou's Jazz Alley or Tula's for music. You must go to the Pink Door for the most eclectic brand of entertainment: there you'll see everything from tango dancers to trapeze artists.
