  • 1. The Georgianne Inn
    The Georgianne Inn, Tybee Island

We took my friend's recommendation on where to stay. We booked March 26-30 at the Georgianne Inn. We stayed in room number four. Our room looked just like the pictures, except we had a different sofa in the living room area.
The Inn was three houses off the beach.

  • 2. Fannie's On The Beach
Fannie's on the Beach, Tybee Island

We ended up having lunch at Fannie's on the Beach as we had seen it from the beach the night before.

I got coconut shrimp & he got a grilled Mahi sandwich. Both were very tasty! Also we had sweet tea almost daily! The food was great, even though our waitress was a ditz. She brought us someone else's beer & then apparently we paid the check of the people behind us & they paid ours, it was only a couple dollars different & we would never have known unless the lady at the other table pointed it out. We all decided it was ok, but it made us look like bad tippers bc the other table only tipped 12%! We got over it & moved on with our day.

  • 3. Tybee Island Pier & Pavilion

  • 4. The Crab Shack
    The Crab Shack, Tybee Island

On Tuesday night, we went to the Crab Shack. We went there specifically because I wanted to feed the baby gators. (You should check out the website to see what I am talking about)

It's almost more of a complex than a restaurant. They have the gator lagoon, a gift shop that has a room with exotic birds, an iguana named Madonna, turtles & a giant snake. Also they have a tiki bar, restaurant, deck, and patio.

We opted to sit outside on the deck. There were a bunch of fat cats roaming free around the complex (everywhere in Tybee they have cats running loose, but you can't have dogs at most places & they are very strict on their leash laws!). We got a table right by the creek & the view was great.

Our table had a big hole in the middle with a trash can under it to throw the shells of the food you ate. We ordered $7 drinks. I got a pina colada & he had their equivalent of a rum runner. The drinks were tasty but not worth their price. They had drinks for $13 that you could take home the container- which was a coconut cut to be a monkey head.

We ordered the seafood platter for two and added 2 deviled crabs. We should have asked two questions when we ordered it...1) how big is it? and 2) what's on it? It was freaking huge! and cost nearly $40... We could have eaten that for a week or fed like 6 people. It had Cajun corn on the cob, Cajun red potatoes, sausage, crab legs, steamed shrimp (which means peel & eat - gross!), steamed oysters, steamed crawfish (they come out whole!!), crab claws, and butter.

The shrimp was good, the potatoes & corn were yummy, heliked the sausage (I don't eat sausage). Oysters are gross. I had no clue how to even eat the crawfish...so I didn't & neither did he. I cracked one open & it looked gross, so I didn't even ask how to eat them. But apparently it's something like rip off it's head & suck out the tail. The crab legs & claws were fantastic and so were the deviled crabs. The deviled crabs were my favorite thing there.

After dinner, we opted to go feed the gators. He was joking around the whole time that he wasn't going to let me feed them. There's a sign at the lagoon to go get gator food from eh hostess stand. I went & asked & she said "Oh, I'm sorry we don't feed the gators till April". That's the only reason I went there.

  • 5. Bahama Bob's

Wednesday we ate lunch at Bahama Bob's. I got an avocado & crab salad, with a bowl of crab stew. He got jerk salmon.

We went there again later in the week just for drinks.

  • 6. Tybee Island Marine Science Center
Tybee Island Marine Science Center, Tybee Island

We went to the Marine Science Center there. It was lame. But it was only $4 and I got to hold a crab and touch some fish in their touch tank.

  • 7. AJ's Dockside

For dinner we went to AJ's Dockside. It sits on the marsh, so we'd be able to see the sunset. The food was very good. We got the same kind of fish, but prepared differently. The fish was cava something??? We had the best Buffalo shrimp ever for an appetizer. And key lime pie (we took it to go) for a dessert.

Definitely best place to see the sunset.

  • 8. Breakfast Club
    The Breakfast Club, Tybee Island

After visiting the sunrise, we had breakfast at the Breakfast Club. I had eggs & grits, he got steak & eggs. They have great homemade salsa that I got to eat with my eggs, it was tasty but really spicy!

  • 9. Zodiac Tours - Parasailing

Then we headed out to Lazaretto Creek Marina for some parasailing.
Parasailing was fan-freaking-tastic! Definitely one of the best things I have ever done! He has been sky diving before & he said this was right up there with that! I don't have any pictures because we both went up at the same time & we didn't want to ruin our pictures we'd already taken. You'll just have to read about it.
The boat ride was really nice. It was kind of bumpy, it got really bumpy where the river went to the ocean, but we had fun the whole ride. When we got out on to the ocean & away from the other boats & fairly far out from land, they got us in the harnesses. Then hooked us up to the parachute thingy & up we went! When you go up, you have to sit on the boat with your legs out in front of you.
We went tandem, so we were side by side the whole time. Going up & coming down was really easy. I think the only way this would freak someone out is if they are scared of heights. The whole time you are up in the air it's smooth. Seriously feels like you are just sitting on a chair or swing (but not swinging). You can hear the air around you some, but we talked to each other at a normal voice level. The view was breathtaking!

  • 10. Sundae Cafe
    Sundae Cafe, Tybee Island

I had a crab cake sandwich & DH had a grouper sandwich. Both were very tasty!

  • 11. Tybee Island Lighthouse Museum
Tybee Island Lighthouse Museum, Tybee Island

We had never been in a lighthouse before, so it was a must see! There are 178 steps to the top of the light house. It's a huge metal spiral staircase. Our legs were jelly by the time we got up & down 356 steps! But it was well worth the climb. The views were amazing from the top of the light house.

  • 12. Captain Mike's Dolphin Tours

We were out on the boat for about an hour. We saw a few dolphins, it was really hard to get pictures of them!

  • 13. Sting Ray's Seafood
    StingRay's on Tybee, Tybee Island

It was really good! We had the best calamari ever for an appetizer. He had grouper & shrimp. I got deviled crab & shrimp. Their deviled crab was awesome!

  • 14. North Beach Grill

I had a fish taco (which I have never had before bc I always thought they sounded weird - it was pretty good though!) and the best red beans & rice I have ever eaten in my life! DH got a grilled Tilapia sandwich - or was it Mahi?? I can't remember. The view from the restaurant was great, we were about 50 yards from the ocean or so. Our server was really nice. He was probably the best server we had the whole time we were there.

  • 15. Brass Anchor Tattoo

Roger does great work! Very clean studio.
