Who needs to slim down for summer just yet? Have one last "spring fling" of pigging out on the yummiest food this facinating southern city has to offer.

  • 1. Corky's BBQ
    Corky's BBQ, Memphis, Tennessee

DAY ONE (118 lbs) We hit Corky's straight from the airport. Didn't even bother to check into the hotel first. Outstanding "wet" ribs and pulled chicken sandwiches. Loved the pies for dessert too. Buy some sauce to bring home. After lunch we walked off a rib or two on Beale street. Caught a Memphis Grizzlies game at the Fedex Center.

  • 2. Gus World Famous Hot & Spicy
Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken, Memphis, Tennessee

DAY 2 (still 118 lbs) Went to Graceland in the morning and then drove downtown to Gus'. The spicy fried chicken is scrumptious!!! Hot and crispy it's out of this world. Try the chess pie for dessert. Met the waitress who served Racheal Ray on "40 Dollars a Day." Walked over to the Peabody Hotel and saw the ducks waddle back into their elevator at 5pm. Seeing similiarities to the ducks as far as waddling. Hmmm....

  • 3. Interstate Barbecue
    Interstate Barbecue, Memphis, Tennessee

DAY 3 (120 lbs, up 2 and counting) Another Memphis institution that didn't disappoint. Devoured Bar-b-qued spaghetti, wet ribs and "sock it to me" cake. Went to the National Civil Rights Museum after lunch. It was the hightlight of our trip. Facinating and moving - it's a life changing experience - don't miss it.

  • 4. Jim Neely's Interstate Barbecue
    Interstate Barbecue, Memphis, Tennessee

DAY 3 (still 120 lbs) Nooooo! We didn't go to this restaurant twice in one day. I'm not sure which Interstate Bar-B-Que we went to. They both have very similiar names. I'm sure the food is just as good here as the one we went to. Maybe it is the one we went to. Wondering...

  • 5. The Cupboard
    The Cupboard, Memphis, Tennessee

DAY 4 (121 lbs - yikes ! I need bigger pants) Loved, loved loved this restaurant! It's all about the side dishes here. Feasted on black eyed peas, baked apples, eggplant caserole, turnip greens, fried green tomatoes, corn pudding, northern beans, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, and buttered squash just to name a few! Tried to be doting parents and went to the Memphis Children's Museum after lunch. Kids had fun. The museum has a parent's waiting room with internet access - nice!

  • 6. Rendezvous
    Charles Vergos' Rendezvous, Memphis, Tennessee

DAY 5 (I topped out at 122 lbs) Our last BarBQue meal of the trip. After another look at the ducks at the Peabody, we ambled over to the Rendezvous whose front door is slightly hidden in an alleyway. We were absolutely in "dry rib heaven" here. Spicy, salty and beyond tender, these ribs surely satisfied. Our flight back to New York leaves tonight. I'm ready for a salad and the gym!
