Two weeks in Northern Italy

17 May 2007  Frequent travelers to Europe over the last 38 years, after living in Germany in the early 70s for almost 6 months. Travel always includes renting a car and traveling the "yellow" roads of Europe. We've experienced the quiet countrysides of Europe , not the big cities.

    4 people - 2 bathrooms
The private cottage of Fienile di Villole enjoys open views over one of Tuscany’s most prestigious regions, the Chianti. Following its restoration, the old stone hay barn provides a rare opportunity to stay in a completely private cottage with a private pool.

My husband and I just took two friends, who had never been to Europe before, to this pension for the first night of a two week trip in Italy and it made a wonderful first impression on them. The rooms were immaculate and sizable, with bathrooms that were roomy and well appointed. Plus each room had a balcony with chairs and a table and unbelievable views of Kaltern and the Alto Adige wine district of Italy.
The Pension is located on the edge of town, on the side of the valley and consequently was very quiet and restful. It has a very nice pool and small garden area, plus a small bar where hotel guests can enjoy a drink, each with views of Kaltern and the Alto Adige wine district.
Rosalinde Weis, the owner and hostess, made us feel instantly at home and welcome. Although we did not contract for dinner in advance, she accommodated us, at the last minute, with an absolutely wonderful meal. Breakfast was extensive and excellent, as well.
My husband and I have traveled extensively in Europe over the last 38 years, and the Pension Christl will be on our short list of places to return to. And it helped to Europe a favorite travel destination for our friends.
