  • 1. Map of Negril

Want to know where all these great places are in relation to where your staying, or where you are considering to stay; you need the map put together by a bunch of TA volunteers. It's not endorsed by TA in anyway, just put together by fellow boardies from Boston to Canada to California and Negril.

  • 2. General information and all the hot spots!

Great all around website for information on Negril. Still ask the experts on Trip Advisor, but this site is definitely worth a read before you go!

  • 3. Weather

Only one sites worth checking for weather when going to Negril, otherwise there is not a weather station or meteorologist in Negril. Closest one is MoBay and because of the mountains the weather there is completely different. Lots of sunshine, warmth and humidity and almost always a short period of liquid sunshine each day.

If there is a cold front that heads down through Florida, expect wind and waves in Negril.

  • 4. Money

Use Jamaican dollars when possible. Best exchange rates are at the Cambios, but I feel safer exchanging large amounts at Scotia Bank. The Cambios are small and anyone standing behind you or to the side can see how much you are dealing with which is no different than flashing cash on the street.
Print an exchange table from this site from USD -> JMD and then JMD -> USD. Laminate the two sheets back to back at credit card size and you'll have a great tool to carry with you. I copied the results form this site into Excel to create my custom cards.

  • 5. Another Map Link

Just another resource for the map!

  • 6. Another weather site!

    Awesome site for tracking storms.
