With vast development of Shopping Complexes in Jakarta, one will find that one shopping mall might have similarities to others. Here, specific item is specified for the specific mall. Might be a helpful guide for those who wants to find specific thing in mind...

  • Appeals to: Business travellers , Singles, Families with small children, Families with teenagers, Tourists
  • Seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall
  • 1. Senayan City

Newest shopping mall in Senayan area. Perfect for those who wants to find a blend between designer boutiques and mid-level clothing stores.
The first ever Burger King in Indonesia is opened here (after the 90's Burger King closed its door at Plaza Indonesia more than 10 years ago) proved that this shopping mall has young spirit in mind. Might get crowded on weekends.
Some highlights: Debenhams (3-storey department store), Best Denki (the biggest in Jakarta), usual designer boutiques (Bottega Venetta, Dunhill, Tumi luggages, Banana Republic), and 2-level ZARA.

  • 2. Plaza Senayan

Just across Senayan City is another upmarket shopping mall, Plaza Senayan. The ground floor houses major designer boutiques, 2 department stores, and a wide atrium. On the second and third floor you can find various shops selling clothing, books, snacks, and food. The extension houses a cineplex, various restaurants, bar, and night clubs (one of the most happening in town).

  • 3. Pacific Place Mall Jakarta

Another Jakarta's swank mall is also a home to children favourite amusement park; Kidzania. You can shop for designer clothing, casual wear, household items, electronics, and many more. Other tenant including M department store, KemChicks supermarket, Blitz Megaplex cinema, and Pacific Bay food court. The Ritz Carlton Jakarta-Pacific Place is just next door.

  • 4. Plaza Indonesia

For those who likes designer fashion, this is the heaven! Almost 3 storeys are filled with designer shops. The basement boost some food courts, eateries, and service shops.
The adjacent Entertainment Center (they call it eX) is filled with eateries, cinema, gym, and shops that is more suitable for the youths.

  • 5. Grand Indonesia

A large shopping mall, located side by side with Plaza Indonesia. Grand Indonesia houses 2 department stores; Harvey Nichols (first in Southeast Asia) and Seibu, Indonesian souvenir store (alun alun Indonesia), bookstore (Gramedia), kids play area (with ferris wheel, roller coaster, water rides, etc), a supermarket, and various mid-range to upmarket fashion boutiques. Adjacent to the historical Hotel Indonesia, it's a destination of its own

  • 6. Mall Taman Anggrek

Family oriented mall with its own Ice Skating Rink (the only one in town), has wide range of stores, 2 department stores (Metro and Matahari). A good mixture between high end fashion brands and local clothing brands.

  • 7. Mall Ciputra Jakarta

Another family-oriented mall in West Jakarta which has a good mixture of tenant selling various items; from restaurants to cafes, casual wear clothing to luggage stores, and from books to music recordings. The Hotel Ciputra next door is a perfect choice for shoppers as well as those in transit but wants to taste a bit of the city.

  • 8. Mangga Dua Wholesale Complex

The Mangga Dua Mall and Harco Mangga Dua boost the wide selection of electronics, computers, and audio shops. A true paradise for those who are looking for the best deals of electronics.
While the ITC mangga dua (across the street from mangga dua mall) is a wholesale place for clothings and other stuff.
