Located 25 kms aprox from kodaikanal. berijam lake is a virgin lake with its unspoilt beauties. The drive to berijam lake is awesome through the dense forests. If your lucky you can see some bisons which are famous in kodaikanal.
Berijam lake is a natural lake which is the main drinking water supply for Periyakulam a town in the plains.Previously there was a road built by the british called the escape road which connected kodaikanal and munnar which passed through berijam lake(through the road is no more) Must visit place in kodai you need to get special permission from the forest department..there is also a guest house there (no electricity) need special permission to stay there.
There are several sight seeing view points on the way which are truly breadth taking..Caps valley - enroute berijam lake is a intresting place they say if you throw your cap from the cliff it will come back to you provided there is enough wind...

  • 3. Devils kitchen( Guna caves)

Devils kitchen is a cave located behind pillar rock. The walk to the cave is really thrilling, they say there is a gap between the rocks which is never ending.A tamil movie called Guna staring kamal hassan was shot there hence now the new name for this attraction is Guna caves.General tourists are restricted to enter to a certain point ,but with special permission from the forest department can go there..dont go there when its raining as it can be very slippery.
