  • 1. Port & Cape Canaveral area
    Cocoa Beach, Brevard County

This is the closest ocean front to Orlando. It is perfect for a day or two on the beach. Some of the best surfer's in the world come from the area because of the quality of surfing. In this case it is the quality of waves and size does not matter much. Port Canaveral is still a fishing village but also home to the fastest growing cruise ship port. The seafood is cheap and the best you'll get in Florida. Having grown up in Boston I am picky about the quality and freshness (Seafood Atlantic is my no. 1 recommendation). There is Ron Jon's megastore and many restaurants and bars. Orlando can be expensive. This trip will give both you and your wallet a little rest.

Known for being the fastest growing cruise ship port in the country but also a fishing village where you will find the freshest shrimp and seafood in Florida

Best Surfing on the East Coast. Cheap, beautiful beaches with quality waves. Food and drink is a value as is real estate. Small but high quality waves.
