  • 1. Chorao
    Chorao, Goa

Begin your afternoon adventure with a nice konkani lunch of fish curry and rice washed down with a drink of kokam and head out in your taxi to the lil island of Chorao on the river Mandovi. A short ferry ride later, ask your driver to take you through the narrow lanes of the island and absorb the stillness around you. You will find houses inspired by Portuguese architecture and ancestral property that tell a story or two. As you drive along look out for a Chapel standing proud against the afternoon sun...a must stop for you and your tripod...the light and the edifice make for beautiful B&W pictures. When you drive back out in the ferry, don't forget to look back at the mangroves to watch the leaves turns translucent in the afternoon sun.

  • 2. Church and Monastery of St Augustine
Church and Monastery of St Augustine, Panjim, Goa

A visit to the 46 meter high tower at the ruins of the Church of St. Augistine is must for any traveler interested in history and photography. The 17th century ruins are a ballad waiting to be captured by your lens. Set aside your equipment and take a few minutes to listen to the silence that travels through the stones. Walk all around the ruins before you begin capturing your shots for the day.The site is so rich in history and the melancholy packs a powerful punch. Expect to leave with a few breath taking photographs.

  • 3. Basilica of Bom Jesus Goa

While a walk inside the Basilica is a must, to me it is the exteriors of the church and the surrounding courtyard that is a pleasure to shoot. Walk around for a lovely shot of the church bells peaking through the coconut trees..and take a picture or two of the road along the basilica. The light at this hour in the evening is sharp and makes for interesting shadows across both the basilica and ASI building on the opposite side of the road.

  • 4. Mount Mary Church, Old Goa

Wrap your day with a breath taking sunset.Make sure that you reach Mount Mary around 6 in the evening during summers and around 5 in the evening if you are travelling during winters or monsoon. One of my favorite locations to capture a sunset in Goa. The Church in itself makes for stunning photography..and i suggest you take these shots from the curve of the road. Head up to the corner of the property to watch the sun put on a stunning display of colors for you across Mandovi. Remember to get shots of the old ruins, the railway bridge among others. Sit back and watch the colors turn and let your camera capture the shades of yellow, orange and red as the the sun sets. During monsoon the clouds add a special touch to the sunset making the shots look like floating molten gold.
