  • 1. Coral Bay
    Coral Bay, St. John

Our favorite side of St. John. We enjoy the quite and natural beauty that surrounds Coral Bay and the East End. The views from the villas at the higher elevations of Coral Bay and Bordeaux Mountain affort the most incredible multi island views.

Can't wait to stay at this beautiful villa with a multi island view that is one of the best on the island. Plan on enjoying a special vacation in a private and beautiful setting with my husband of 30 years.

I'd like to note that I picked this villa after reading posts by AnneatSea on Tripadvisor who I now correspond with. It was a great way to get first hand information and reviews to plan a trip

  • 3. The Beaches of St. John
    http://www.vinow.com/stjohn/beaches_stj/

I have been to numerous beaches on St. John on all sides of the island. Although most are very different from each other, I can't say there was one I did not like. There was something special about each one we visited. The north shore beaches are beautiful - Trunk, Hawksnest, Gibney, Maho, Jumbie, Cinnamon - loved the views and the water. Beaches are white sand and absolutely gorgeous. Francis Bay has a different feel (lots of chickens) and is a favorite of the locals on STJ. Missed Salt Pond last trip but it is number one this time for us. The south shore beaches are different sand (loved the cobblestone beaches) and the places I went were quit remote which we enjoyed. The western//nothern beaches near Caneel are lovely but a hike - Honeymoon and Soloman - well worth hiking in my opinion. Loved snorkling at Vie's Beach on the East End.
Hope to find a new favorite on this trip.

  • 4. Hawksnest Beach
Hawksnest Beach, Virgin Islands National Park, St. John

One of my favorite north shore beaches in St. John. Easy access, great swimming and snorkling. Unbelievable views. The first beach I went to in STJ, I returned several times.

  • 5. Salt Pond Bay
Salt Pond Bay, Virgin Islands National Park, St. John

Didn't get here on my last trip so it is one of my first priorities this trip. Plan on hiking to Drunk Bay to leave our mark in coral and stone on the beach. Will have lunch and a drink with Larry at the Tourist Trap.

  • 6. Little Lameshur Bay
Little Lameshur Bay, Virgin Islands National Park, St. John

There are two great bays for snorkling (Big and Little Lameshur). Dirt road access right to the beach but you must have four wheel drive. Picnic tables on the beach and trees for shade. Only saw two other people for hours. Really nice place for a picnic lunch and swim. We will return there this trip.

  • 7. Dingy Rental to see the North shore from the water and snorkling at Waterlemon
    http://www.calypsovi.com/dinghy.html

Plan on renting a dingy to get a different perspective on the view of St. John. Looking forward to snorkling at Waterlemon on this trip as well as other coves along the north shore.

  • 8. Aqua Bistro
Aqua Bistro, Coral Bay, St. John

A great waterfront bar and restaurant in Coral Bay. Good food, great drinks, and a nice atmosphere. Small grocery store to pick up items is on the site also.

  • 9. Sweet Plantains Restaurant & Rhum Bar
Skipper's Brit Pub at Sweet Plantains, Coral Bay, St. John

We plan on enjoying a special dinner here to celebrate our return to St. John and our first trip without the family in almost two decades. Looking forward to a wonderful dinner overlooking Coral Bay.

  • 10. The Beach Bar
The Beach Bar, Cruz Bay, St. John

A favorite lunch spot for us in Cruz Bay. Good food and drinks at reasonable prices and a view to die for. Plan on returning there again this trip.

  • 11. Hilltop Villas at Bluebeards Castle
    http://www.expedia.com/St-Thomas-And-St-John-Hotels-Hilltop-Villas-At...

Since we decided to spend a day sailing on Morningstar Charters out of St Thomas, we booked two nights there to minimize travel costs and time between STT and STJ. It also makes it easier to get to the airport for our flight home since we will already be on STT. The savings paid for the hotel on STT so we could stay an extra day. Great deal all the way around for us.

  • 12. Morningstar Charters
Morningstar Sailing and Power Charters, Red Hook, East End

We have reservations to sail on Morningstar on Sunday, August 12th. Can't wait. We enjoyed a sunset cruise on New Horizons last year so much that we wanted to take a longer, less populated sail this year. I'm sure this will be one of the highlights of our trip.
