Awesome, quiet place to stay. Rented on www.vrbo.com. Very satisfied. At night take advantage of it's quiet location and take many romantic walks on the beach. Stay on the higher floors and the views is unbelievable.
2. Blue Dolphin Tours-- Shell Island Boat Rentals - Boat and Waverunner Tours
3605 Thomas Drive ph:850-234-7245 If it's you and your honey, you must do the waverunner tours. Especially if you like going fast and having fun. Be sure and make reservations though. Take an old hat and sunglasses just in case they fly off. On the waverunner tours the dolphins swim right along with you. And be sure and ask for a stop to dig your feet in the sand for sand dollars. Then the island is secluded and beautiful. Make sure you sunscreen before you leave. And don't forget to tip your tour guide.
You must have the wonderful Ribs here and ask to be seated on the deck! And don't forget a cool T-Shirts for everyone back home from here.
We purchased "the big one" (1100 feet of rope and 2 dips) parasail package from the guys at the hut located right on The Celadon's beach. It was breath-taking and not a bit scary. Be sure and tip the guys on the boat. They are really great.
7. Calypso Beach Cafe and Sports Grille
Stop in here if there is a big sporting event you do not want to miss while on vacation. They have over 130 TV's they say. We watched the Nascar race. If you're not eating dinner ask to be seated in the bar area. They have the big screen Tv's in there. Do not leave without trying the awesome Key Lime Pie and ordering The Swashbuckler (I think that is what it is) their signature drink that they bring to you in a coconut pirate head you get to take back home. www.CalypsoBeachCafe.com 15812 Front Beach Rd
8. Mike's Diner
My husband loved this place for a country breakfast.l 17554 Front Beach Rd
The back deck has great atmosphere! The fresh fried shrimp and lobster were great. The strawberry margaritas were perfect (not too sweet and not too strong). But don't get stuck inside if there is no band. Dark and dreary not that much fun.
10. Any Surf Shop on the strip
A good place for souvenirs, or a place to grab quick things for the beach-- sunglasses, flip flops, beach mats, etc.
11. Florida Linen
This is a great place to pick up some really nice beach frames, entertaining pieces, or if your decorating "beachy" back home. Pricey but they have really nice stuff. Only draw back if you see something you love-- buy it. They do not have a website.
