  • 1. Bondi Beach
    Bondi Beach, New South Wales

stayed for two nights at Bondi Beach Central b&b host Nadia..... first class accommodation and like a home from home, great start to my trip to Oz. Bondi beach is lovely and there are great coastal walks that are a must. Shops, restaurants and shops a plenty. Front promenade is clean and all flat to meander along taking in the views. Local buses very frequent into city - bus 333 9dollars day return to circular quay was great service.

  • 2. conservation volunteer australia

I booked two week conservation work in UK starting from Sydney. Joining day is a Friday and I was issued a train ticket to travel 3 hours north staying in a volunteer house in Cardiff (suburb of large city Newcastle). Met other volunteers from around the world, Korea, Japan, Germany and some locals. It was hard graft but I got to see the real australia and loved every minute..... our task for the week was working near Singleton on a farm watering tree plants...... in 40degrees that was hard work....... camped up in mountains surrounded by wild wallabees etc, scenery was beautiful..... I did leave after one week to explore more of Oz. Top tip:- dont book via Gapyear in UK book direct with Conservationvolunteer only aud30 a day and much cheaper than UK rates.

  • 3. Sydney Central YHA
Sydney Central YHA, New South Wales

Stayed here in a double room ensuite for sole use for five nights....... great location across road from Central station (rail and bus). only 5 min walk to Paddys Market and Darling Harbour a further 5 mins. Hostel has great amenities and the rooftop sauna and tiny pool is nice after a day exploring the city, every monday night there is a barbeque on the rooftop and the views over the city are lovely. Good value for money and clean.

  • 4. Meriton Rialto Apartments Sydney
Meriton Serviced Apartments Pitt Street, New South Wales

I prebooked this luxury one bed apartment in UK via hotelclub.com and was worth every penny. Great location, again only mins away from Darling Harbour, shops and local amenities a plenty. Very secure and the pool , sauna and spa is worth a visit.. even if the pool is tad cold. Town Hall train station is round corner and takes 2 mins to go to circular quay or this is a 15min walk........ but fab shops enroute.

  • 5. Magnums Backpackers
    Magnums Backpackers, Airlie Beach, Queensland

Flew from Sydney to Prosperine and stayed one night at Magnums in a double room for sole use aud49. Clean basic accommodation with shared shower and toilet. Very lively accommodation buzzing with atmosphere so a good choice.
Went on a three day sailing trip - a must from Airlie Beach - left luggage for 3 days at Magnums in a secure lockup for aud 5 dollars. Stayed at Magnums again for one night after the trip. Magnums reception is open from 0600-2200hrs daily which is great as travellers were arriving and leaving all the time.

  • 6. 3-day pro-sail sailing trip to Whitsundays

3 day sailing pro-sail trip to Whitsundays. met lots of lovely fellow travellers. Snorkling and sailing. Very well organised and worth investing the money for. We were all part of the crew and helped hoist the sails etc. The facilities are basic aboard bunks all you need is sunscreen, sense of adventure and swimming gear. dinner elfresco watching the stars truly heaven - snorkeling and scenery breathtaking a must when visiting the Whitsundays.
