2. Viewpoint

Enjoy Scenic views to the south over Shottenden and the surrounding orchards and woodland.

Tasty dishes made with fresh local ingredients wherever possible are served daily with a focus on Kentish and traditional country foods including Game when available.


The Red Lion is a traditional country pub offering a delicious selection of home cooked food.
They also provide rustic camping facilities in the pub paddocks and wi-fi use is free to all our customers.

5. Selling Church

There has been a church recorded on this site since 1054 when it was granted to the Benedictine abbey known as St Augustine's Canterbury.
There is some fine stain glass windows to be seen inside the church.

A restored coaching Inn dating from 1703, the White Lion serves great food, locally sourced where possible along with the well know Shepherd Neame beers.
