Berlin attracts many tourists. These are some ideas to help you make full use of your time. It is a great to explore. Try eating, shopping, sight seeing, museums and do not forget Potsdam. You can get about with the excellent public transport system or walk. I find taxis are not expensive.

Postdamer Platz is where the New Berlin started to evolve. It was big modern and has shiny buildings. There is the Sony Center, the theatres, the shops, the big name hotels, casino and many places to eat. There is always a buzz about Postdam Platz. if you like shopping there is good shopping center and you are nor far from the Mall of Berlin.

After you have explored Frierichshain move into the next area Prenzlauer Berg. If you look at how Berlin has develped since the wall came down you can see the changes in Mitte, it then moved to Prenzlauer Berg and then moved onto Friedrichshain. The development was taking place all over the city but this was the main movement. Not much happened in PLB between the war and the wall coming down. Developers were left with a wonderful canvas to develop. Walk the streets and see how the old buildings have been restored. There is still a lot of work to do. PLB had at one stage the highest birth rate in Europe. There are many good places to shop and eat.

A great place to finish off a day of exploring East Berlin and how it has changed. There are some great buildings to see. You may want to stop off at the Kulturbrauerie for a quick drink before or after dinner. For dinner you should try one of the many restaurants near Kollwitzplatz. A few ideas include Gugelhoh, Poulette, Pasternak, Mao Thai.
