Points of Interest

1. Parking

On the N197, there are three big parking just before arriving in the old city. Just take care, the lane to the beach cross the railway, it's a very slow train but have a look...

2. Calvi's beach

Crowded during the summer, the main beach of Calvi offers a great view on the citadel and on the mountains of Corsica in the background.
Plenty of restaurant along the beach to have a drink under the shadow of a sun umbrella.

3. The marina

The marina of Calvi offers a permanent show of the world hugest yachts as Calvi is the meeting points of worldwide stars and rich people during the hot summer days.
At night, with the cold wind coming from the sea it is a delight to wlak along the marina and have dinner or just an icecream in a restaurant on the marina. see Tips.

4. Sainte Marie Majeure church

On the place in front of the church, several Christian martyrs died including Restituta, a rich Roman women that was tortured and decapitate in May 304 AC. She is now the Saint of Balagne, region of Calvi.
This is a baroque style church, perfect to refresh from the hot sun if you are wlaking Calvi in a hot summer day.

5. The rue Clemenceau

6. The tower of salt

This small tower was the place where the salt was stocked was built during the 16th century.

Chez tao is a funny place to have a drink, with a nice view. But you'll have to wear proper clothing unfortunately. The piano-bar is an ancient palace of bishops, very nice building.

8. The citadel

Enjoy the view form the battlements and walk in the old streets.
You may visit as well: the cathedral "Saint Jean Bapstiste", la poudrière and the houses of Chistophe Colomb and Napoléon the 1st.

9. Saint Jean Baptiste church

Built during the 16th century, the church contains the statue the famous "Christ of miracles". This statue would have been transported from the Peru in 1580 and may have precipitated the flight of the ottoman army in 1555, protecting Calvi from the war.
