Why Prague Should be on Every Bucket List

95%
Found this guide helpful

Prague is a city of incredible beauty and sophistication. With a remarkable history and culture to rival any other 'Central' (don't let the locals hear you call it 'Eastern') or Western European capital you'll find Prague to be an intriguing and welcoming place. It's a surprising city with remarkable scientific and musical history along with cobbled lanes and fantastic al fresco dining in the town square. You can easily enjoy this city in just three days but you'll long for more.

Steve H's City Tips

  • The beef goulash is exceptional
  • See the Charles Bridge during the day, view the art and listen to the buskers. But make sure you go back at night.
  • Make sure you see the Lennon (not Lenin) wall. A graffiti tribute to John Lennon.
  • Stay in or near the old town (you want to be able to walk in). The trams are excellent but can be a little confusing. Districts 1, 5 and 7 are the best for walking in.

The clock is a very special place. One of a few of its kind in the world. You can view from outside and go into the tower.

It's all about Trdelník. You must try one. This isn't the only bakery but it's one of the best and has a lovely atmosphere. A cross between a donut and a pretzel. Lovely

This is a bit of fun for the kiddies. It's not too hard to walk up to Petrin tower but the Funicular adds something to the trip. The ticket machines are a bit finicky and you'll need coins. Staff are friendly and helpful but can get overwhelmed by long queues in summer.
