Kathmandu - Abode of Gods

94%
Found this guide helpful

Gods abode Kathmandu is a land locked region and capital of Nepal. It is unfortunate that this beautiful place has lost many architectural marvels during the recent earthquake. The Darbar Square, the Dharahara Tower, the Temple of Lord Vishu with his 10 incarnations are all lost. They are now only in pictures. Its a pity! The saviour and guardian of Nepal Lord Pashupatinath (incarnation of Lord Shiva) had to see piles of bodies burnt in the ghats.

The Malla Rajas had this Goddess as their saviour and this temple is around 500 years old. There are huge crowds when this temple opens up once in a year. Never had an opportunity to see this open inspite of visiting Nepal more than 40 times till date.
