Barbara A's City Tips

  • If you feel like visiting when Antalya is pretty much empty, come between December and March. Just keep in mind that some places close or have less staff available.
  • If you feel like partying, July to August is the high season and the hottest one!
  • May and June are perfect months to visit since the weather is warm, and there's still not a lot of visitors.
  • When you are visiting a mosque where you are allowed to take pictures, please wait for the service to end, and don't take pictures of people who are praying as it is considered disrespectful.
  • If you are thinking of visiting a mosque, please use clothing that covers chest, shoulders and knees. Men should be bareheaded and women must cover their hair.
  • When taking a taxi, choose one from the official stands, and best to establish a price ahead of your trip and then stay with the same driver throughout the day.
  • Be sure to keep an eye on the annual festivals - from film to jazz, and ballet or concerts around the marina - there is always something interesting happening in Antalya.
  • Keep in mind that modesty is appreciated.

Besides being a comfortable, fun, and super cheap way for all the family to get around Antalya, the tram will take you through some of the city's historical parts. Taking the tram is also a pleasant way to beat the heat and humidity of the city, and the trip is sure to be both relaxing and amusing for all members of the family.

What makes Karain Cave unique is the fact that it is not just a cave. It is a complex compound of passageways and chambers, some of them very narrow, and others beautiful decorated with stalagmites and stalactites. This makes for a perfect hike, and a wonderful opportunity to explore for teens and adults that are fans of history and nature.

Coming to the aquarium is an experience everyone will enjoy. It is divided into thematic sections such as the oceans, the rainforest, and the snow area. In every section you'll learn about its native flora and fauna, and don't forget to gather around at feeding time; it is a great show and a chance to see the creatures that have been hiding in their tanks.
