About Katie C
Lives in Edwards, Colorado
Since Aug 2011
Though I'm currently living in Colorado, my true home is the South. I lived in South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, which instilled a love of southern beach towns like Myrtle Beach, Orlando and Charleston. I live near Panama City Beach for part of the year and have spent many memorable nights in locations like Key West and New Orleans. Diver, hiker, climber, craft beer aficionado, snowboarder, fisherman...I'm up for anything at least once.

It's no surprise that the oldest city in the U.S. is particularly enamored with antiques and collectibles. Stroll through Old City and peruse the shops — both small and large — that are prevalent in the historic district. In addition to traditional antiques, there are also stores that specialize in old books and one-of-a-kind music selections.
Stretching several blocks through the center of Saint Augustine, St. George Street is one of the most popular shopping areas in the city, with independent shops and boutiques showcasing accessories for your home, jewelry, books, pottery, clothing, and more. Even if you're just window-shopping, it's fun to browse!
One of the best souvenirs to buy (and gifts to give) are local products that give a sense of place. The St. Augustine Distillery, which is housed in the old ice house, gives guests a great tour and samples of its vodka and gin, all made in Saint Augustine from local and heritage ingredients. The gift shop allows you to purchase bottles to take home as well as other interesting items.
If you're looking for some serious deals on big-name brands (anywhere from 25% to 65% off), head to the outlets. The Saint Augustine Outlets feature a large selection of designer brands including Kate Spade New York, Michael Kors, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, Lucky Brand Jeans, and the only Gucci Outlet in the Southeast United States.
On Saturdays, 30 to 40 vendors show up at the Saint Augustine Amphitheater to display fresh produce, homemade goodies such as bread and pastries, fresh seafood (in season), and artisan crafts. Live entertainment gives this gathering a festive air; you can bop while you shop!
Another main thoroughfare in Saint Augustine, San Marco Avenue is home to many art galleries, boutiques, and antique shops. Travel to the end of the avenue and you'll be right in the heart of the Colonial Quarter; at the end closest to the bridge you can start your exploration at the San Sebastián Winery.
Looking for deals on brands like J.Crew, Coach, Nike, and Calvin Klein? The St. Augustine Premium Outlets have all of these big names plus Banana Republic, Ecco, and more. It's easy to shop till you drop here!
Right over the Bridge of Lions in Saint Augustine is Anastasia Island. Known for its beautiful beaches and outdoor recreation opportunities, it's also home to several cute boutiques and places to grab a bite to eat. If you're looking for a more relaxed shopping experience, head on over to the island.
