Points of Interest

1. Camping Area

Camp anywhere at these spots around the lake. If you have time take an early morning stroll arond the shore to see morning mist rising.

2. Start of Summit Road

From the Newberry Crater Road take a right here and head on up the road towards the summit. This road is 4 miles long.

3. Hiking Trail

If you are ambitious you can take the hiking trail from here that switchbacks up to the top. You can do as we did, drop people off here to start their hike then give them a ride down when they reach the summit.

4. Paulina Peak Summit

Hopefully you timed it right to reach the top of this 7,897 foot peak at sunrise which is the highest point of the Newberry Volcano Complex and National Monument. You will have great views out over the lakes towards the Sisters Volcanoes in the distance above Bend, OR.
