Fell into this hotel as road was closed and we couldn't get through to our booked accommodation in Ballachulish. What a find, perfect for our needs.

Dear Nick C,

Thank you for your review. I am very disappointed and distressed to read your comments. I believe that on this occasion the agent that you went through had not booked the correct number of rooms and as we were sold out we were unable to provide an extra room for you. I am also to understand that you have been compensated accordingly for this by the agent. I do however apologise that you felt the service was below average and the food was not great. I will certainly pick these points up with the team as there is no excuse for this.

I would like for you to stay with us again and should you wish to book, please do call the hotel on 01838 400208 as I would like to personally take care of the booking.

Kind Regards,

Sandy Ruff
Assistant General Manager

Thanks for a fabulous stay on Friday 25th April.
We stayed in one of the new rooms outside, very modern looking with no windows on one side but once inside, it was fabulous. A large patio door with a decking area, lovely comfortable bed, modern shower room and perfectly clean. Also liked the chocolate buttons, a nice touch!
We have a dog and struggle finding modern nice accomodation that doesn't resemble a dog kennel for us! We last came to Scotland ten years ago and all hotels we stayed at were shabby and chintzy and we didn't have a dog then. So it was so great to find this. My husband described it as an oasis in the desert, very high praise from him.
The food was also fantastic and very reasonably priced, it was a shame we couldn't fit in a dessert. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. We liked it that much we have booked another night on Friday, the only downside was we couldn't turn the towel rail off and it was very hot!

We stayed here for 2 nights in Nov 2011. After a great experience the first night, we booked a second. Great access to sections of West Highland Way.
High points were;
1. The food which was excellent both for dinner and breakfast. Loved the starters, smoked venison and the mussels, as well as the mushroom focaccia. For dinner the seafood linguine and smoked seafood risotto were excellent.
2. Wine by the glass list has some interesting choices and the Cab/Shiraz was good.
3. Lounges were wonderful! Warm, friendly and with an inviting fire.
4. Drying room hot and available to guests upon arrival.
5. Very nice bathroom.
6. Staff were warm, helpful and efficient
Could use improvement;
1. In general the twin room was a little small for two.
2. Like in some areas of Scotland, it is hard to get really proper hot water in the bath (this if from an American perspective).

Great location on the west highland way. Very good food in bar and restaurant. The staff was exceptional! We stayed in room #1. Large with sitting area, Windows with great views, but the quality of the bed was awful! Dips and lumps so bad I had to place a pillow in the dip just to lay flat. Great place they just need to upgrade beds in the older section of hotel. I'm told the new rooms were lovely.

Dear Pearadella,

Thank you for your review. I am pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you very much for your constructive feedback about our beds. We want our guests to have a good sleep. Therefore comfortable mattresses are important to us. I can assure you that we will replace them in next few weeks.

Kind Regards,

Maria Mickova
