Stayed here one night as watching our horse in the regional dressage finals. we had 2 rooms both rooms were very clean and a 43 inch tv is great as a lot of hotels including 4 stars still have very small tvs even some of the suites I have booked dont have tvs this big. The staff on reception and at breakfast was also polite and helpful If I am in Kilmarnock again I would stay here again

This is a light, spacious and attractive modern hotel situated about 5-10 minutes walk from the central shopping area of Kilmarnock and is an ideal place for a short stopover in Ayrshire. We had a double bedroom which was large with a very comfortable bed; the room was immaculately presented, clean and tidy and well stocked with everything that you would expect, ie shampoo, shower gel, coffee, tea, milk, etc. Being a modern hotel, The Park doesn't have much in the way of elegance, style or character. The Blues restaurant, whilst comfortable, is fairly functional and the bar area is not the most comfortable and relaxing that I have ever visited. However we had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and the food was excellent, particularly breakfast where the full range of Scottish delicacies are available, haggis, black pudding, potato scones etc. With a window seat you can also look out onto the Rugby Park football pitch...a bonus for football fans! Throughout our brief stay the service we received from all members of staff was very good. Only one small grumble; we had assumed that our evening drinks in the bar were being "put on the room". However we were called back by a member of the bar staff just as we were making our "escape" who asked us to sign for what we had drunk. Some guests could find this quite embarrassing!

Lovely hotel, very clean and spacious - as are the bedrooms. Beds very comfy, had great nights sleep. Breakfast to die for and service quick and efficient. Cant fault it in any way apart from the fact it is a fair walk to the town centre. Carol was our receptionist and went out of her way to let us check in early as we had been travelling for 5 hours - really helpful and friendly with a happy smiling face - we really appreciated this so big THANK YOU to Carol. Absolutely no reason not to stay here again - well maybe apart from the price - we got the room at lastminute rate of 55 pounds B&B. We travel to Kilmarnock at least once a month and have never stayed here before because we have never been able to get as competitive a price as this here before. Having said that any other hotel in Kilmarnock that we've stayed in hasn't a patch on this one!

All staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious with adequate wardrobe space and tea/coffee/ hot chocolate etc. I found it strange that no meals were available between the hours of 4.45 and 20.00hrs. The only option to eat between these times was in the bar but the menu was snacks consisting of toasties, bagels etc. As we wanted to have a sit down meal, we had to go into Kilmarnock Town Centre and managed to get a table for the 4 of us at the Longhouse for 5.45. Seems crazy to lose out on business by not having late afternoon/early evening meals available but this was my only criticism as we enjoyed our nights stay

We decided to enjoy an overnight stay in this hotel, as we were attending a family celebration. On arrival we tried to leave an open debit card account at reception so we could charge drinks, snacks to room. Receptionist rudely asked if we didn't have a credit card, when I said no, she then said they do not have system in place to use debit cards for this function. We were very surprised as we stay in hotels etc regularly and never had this problem. This ment even as residents we could not purchase drinks in the bar after family function, as they do not take cash or debit cards after hours!! We showed them room key, to no effect. As we were in a large group, they lost out on several rounds of drinks. Bar staff was very rude and kept complaining it had been a long day, to anyone who could purchase a drink.
Beds and room suited us, but several of our party found their bedrooms to be cold.
Breakfast was very poor. Included continental breakfast had no fresh fruit, all tinned. Had to asked for serving spoons for granola, they had forgotten them, we didn't go to breakfast till 9.30, so find it hard to believe no one has chosen it before then. Waiting staff asked if we wanted tea/ coffee? Which they brought reasonably quickly, but we had to ask for toast. We ordered additional items, which were not on included menu, so additional cost involved. Fish with poached egg, very small portion, very bland. French toast with maple syrup was stodgy egged bread with absolutely no taste, as for maple syrup...... virtually non existent!! As we had no card details we were presented with bill at same time as food arrived, waitress stood next to us expecting payment immediately!! Paid cash, again never experienced this before in a supposed3/4 star hotel. Never asked if we needed tea or coffee refilled. After leaving restaurant another member of waiting staff chased us asking for payment of additional breakfast items, even though we had already paid it!!
On checking out, receptionist did not ask if we had enjoyed our stay, or if everything had been all right, again don't remember this ever happening before at other hotels.
All in all our last impression of this hotel, was very poor, and that staff were surly, not very efficient and in the wrong jobs!!
