We were expecting a "luxury" all-inclusive resort for our stay in Providenciales. On arrival, hotel staff were pleasant, however our expectations for a luxury stay were quickly diminished. First impressions are so important, and our first impression was that the Alexandra was nothing more than a beachside version of a Days-Inn. The bellhop took our luggage and loaded it on the golf cart. He stated that he was going to give us a tour of the grounds. Tour consisted of the gym that is attached to the lobby, the outdoor smoking area, walkway to the beach and dropped us off at our building. All of which was in the same parking lot, half of the size of a foot-ball field (or less). There was nothing to tour. We stayed in the Marilyn building with a 3rd floor garden view room. When we first entered, the room smelled strongly of mildew/mold. I understand accomodations in tropical areas are prone to a "wet" odor, but this was most definitely mildew. The room was "clean" however the condition of the furnishings were insulting. The table was marred very badly, and the chair for the cafe table was so tattered that the lining under the chair was torn and visibly hanging down. The television only worked half of the time and would post a notification that the DISH network service was scheduled for disconnection due to failure of payment. We were provided with 4-6 oz waters per day, and a the same number of coke/diet coke/sprite. We do not drink alcohol, so the beer went untouched. The bathroom mirror was broken, and damaged. The photo hanging on the wall had a significant amount of mold under the glass. Baseboards, walls and door frame were visibly dirty with handprints that looked like makeup or some other tan/bronze substance. Exhaust fan was grossly dusty/grimy. The shower was so small that my husband, who is 6-7, was unable to take a shower with the shower door closed, resulting in water needing to be cleaned up after every shower. The ceiling fan, vents curtains and baseboards in the room itself were filthy with dust/dirt build up. The lining of the curtains was frayed and tearing due to age. Our patio was missing a second cafe chair, and the ceiling fan that had once been there was nothing but an electrical box. I inquired about moving to a different room because my husband could not comfortably shower. We were told there was nothing that could be done, as there was no other availability. There was no effort to contact us if something became available, nor an effort made to inquire if they could offer something for our inconvenience. We were simply told "no" and that was the end of it. On their booking site, they promote their beachfront buildings (which I believe have been renovated) However, we were told by the desk attendant that the only rooms available for us to move to were garden rooms, because the larger units are reserved for owners. From that statement, I gather that what they advertise as luxury, is not available to general public. The owners are provided those accommodations; while everyone else overpays for something that is closer to an RV park than it is a luxury resort. The resort prides itself in fine dining, wonderful all inclusive options and entertainment. There are three buildings on the property that serve as mulit-purpose restaurants. The food was ok and that's being generous, the service was absolutely horrible. We waited 15 minutes to be asked for a drink order, food was cooked from frozen. Their "steak" restaurant consisted of pre cooked meat like you are at a 1000 person convention and the "seafood" restaurant was the same. We ordered a crab cake appetizer that was delivered to us in under a minute and looked/tasted like a hockey puck. Horrible. Food options are not available 24/7 as other all-inclusives are. The 24/7 foods were a snack station in the middle of the property set up like a gas-station convenience mart or hospital cafeteria A small refrigerator with limited sandwich selections mass produced sheet cake desserts that many times were soggy. Cookie jar with cookies...that were not wrapped, but simply in a cookie jar. Tongs were available, but we witnessed many people just reaching into that cookie jar. There was an assortment of apples and oranges available. Again, this was all in an outside area, exposed to elements, animals and people. The only water dispenser was at this snack bar. There were no bottled water options, no fountain soda or canned soda, or juice options. Coffee was limited to the carafes at the snack station. The smoothie station offered only two options for smoothies, and two options for acai bowls. Only 2 of the days that we were there did they have all of the ingredients for the advertised options. The acai "bowls" were being blended together and put into a cup as a smoothie because they didn't have all the ingredients and did not have bowls. Ingredients were basic like bananas, chocolate syrup, and various other fruits. Daily breakfast offered the exact same items, and was nothing more than a continental type set up, as one would have in a Fairfield or Hampton Inn. A system for getting beach/pool loungers was lacking. Individuals would be up at 6 am placing multiple towels on multiple chairs; 12 chairs in one instance. The beach towels were old and ratty, bleached out colors, and did not match. It was a hodge-podge of towels most of which showed visible stains. And the towel attendant behaved in a very rude manner when requesting a towel. As a matter of fact, most of the staff we did encounter were very rude (aside from our housekeeper, she was amazing). They were so rude that one of the guests we befriended was so insulted by a waitress at Black Stone. When she was asked how she would like her steak prepared, she stated that she wanted rare. The waitress scoffed and said "why would you want that? that is how the white people eat it." Our friend was an African American woman. The "eden garden" that is designated as adults only, is a gravel walkway from the main sidewalk to the deck of Black Rock. It has 4 tiny tables set up, in the gravel for "privacy" however any person can walk through the area and they do. The waters were beautiful, but there was no effort to comb the beach from drifts or debris each morning. A person would come out with a rake at some point during the day, when most people were there relaxing and make a small effort. The pool is in need of cosmetic repair. There are no areas to go to for relaxation/shelter other than your room. The spa was a joke, and was not open at any time during our stay. Stating that Alexandra is rated in the top 3 of all-inclusive resorts, is very misleading. There are a very limited number of all-inclusive resorts on the island. Less than 10 from my research. It is obvious this place is struggling. Aside from everything that I have listed, the grounds are not well kept. Weeds are growing in areas where there should be landscaping, and they are showcased as flowers, when they obviously are not. With rain on 1 of the days, the parking lot flooded from a clogged drain that was over a foot deep. After 3 days, we had our meals at Blue Haven. The quality of the food, staff and accomodations was night and day compared to Alexandra. This was a bucket list trip for us. One that I wish we never put in the bucket. We travel extensively and stay in Luxury accomodations. This was a 1-2 star at best. If the nightly rate had been between 350-400 for our particular room, that would have been too much. The Alexandra is grossly overpriced, and misrepresented. There were families and visitors that saved for a long time to take their dream vacation, and were so disappointed. We can say that hands down, this was the absolute worst vacation experience. It was made worse by the fact that we opted to stay two additional nights, paying out of pocket nearly $2000 which we would not have paid $200 for what we received. We have told everyone we meet that expresses or has expressed interest in going to NOT go, and if they do, to NOT stay at Alexandra. This resort it is the ultimate definition of a bait and switch. Just a horrible place to even consider staying.

Hotel's Favourite
This was our third trip since 2019 to the Alexandra Resort in Grace Bay. As usual, we had a fantastic time. The water is crystal clear, the soft white sand on the beach is always clean and free of seaweed or algae and the smaller scale of the resort is more appealing to us than some larger resorts we have stayed at in the past. Despite the smaller footprint, options for food, beverages and entertainment are exceptional. Kids: While this resort welcomes families with kids, the resort is not centered around entertaining them. The attraction for us and most adults is the pristine beach, though they also have a nice pool and a small jungle gym on the interior of the resort. I can't say I have ever used the pool because the beach is perfect for swimming laps or just floating in the cool waters. Food: Food is marvelous and the options get better with every vacation we take there. You'll never go hungry. Resort choices are plentiful. "The Fish Deck" (reservations required); delicious fish-centered dishes beautifully plated with additional food choices including chicken or beef. My husband's favorite is the coconut shrimp appetizer. Our server, Marilin is funny, helpful and attentive. She has served us on previous vacations, so it was nice to reconnect with a great employee. "Black Rock" (reservations required); tender beef cuts and creative sides served on sizzling plates while overlooking the ocean. Our server Milan was professional, efficient, attentive and kind. "Truck Stop"; a fantastic array of options including deliciously seasoned fish tacos, shrimp tacos, beef or chicken skewers, roasted veggies, potatoes and more. My favorite here is the BBQ Tenderloin Beef Skewers. Our regular encounters with our server Carlina were delightful. She is friendly, makes great recommendations and always served us attentively. "Asu Buffet"; a daily buffet offering nicely presented fruits, veggies, scrambled/hard boiled eggs, omelets and a variety of meats including sausage, bacon and other dishes. "Dragon Orchid" (reservations required) is a sushi restaurant. Though we don't eat sushi, guests I have spoken with were pleased with the menu. "Irie Bites" grill does seasoned chicken with rice & beans and corn on a daily basis, just off the beach for a quick lunch. "Turquois Grill" offers pizzas, burgers, fries, etc. from afternoon until midnight. "Fire & Ice" (reservations required) is fine dining at the sister resort, Blue Haven, which you can reach by free shuttle. They offer an expansive and exciting menu of fish, beef and chicken dishes. "Salt" is a casual grill at the Blue Haven marina that doesn't require reservations. We haven't eaten there but spoke with a guest who enjoyed the food. Drinks: "Smoothie Bar" open from early morning until 2pm will mix delicious fresh fruits, juices, syrups and milks to order. We enjoyed a daily afternoon pick-me-up from this stand. Robert and Mary, manning the blender each morning, did a fantastic job serving up good vibes. "Coconut Bar" is the main bar in the center of the resort. Several bartenders rotate shifts here, and I've never been disappointed by any of them. Particularly exceptional in their roles are Skylers (long-time Alexandra Resort bartender, loved by staff and guests alike), Trishauna who expertly took care of our needs in the afternoons, Franko who smiled and energetically served us and brought joy to everyone at the bar. Also, Nahtaly, a new transplant from Colombia, who was interesting, engaging, and worked non-stop mixing cocktails with a happy disposition and desire to please her guests. Accommodations: We've only stayed in the one-bedroom ocean-front suites, which are spacious and completely equipped with full kitchens; large dining table (seats 6), dishwasher, washer/dryer, 1 full bath with tub and separate shower, 2nd half bath. The full balcony has another large table (seats 6) and 2 cushioned chairs with ottomans. The views are stunning. Fridge is stocked daily with lots of water, soda pop and local beer. If you want something extra or just more of something you like, call the front desk and it will be delivered. Our housekeeper, Madeline Jean thoroughly cleaned our rooms daily and took care of any requests we had. She was marvelous, friendly and her work ethic, admirable. Recommendations: --Bring cash in small bills (singles, fives, tens) to tip the servers, housekeeping and bartenders. Everyone works extremely hard to make your vacation wonderful and a little generosity is definitely appreciated. --Bring a stainless-steel cup with a cap (ie. Yeti) The beach is hot and you'll appreciate having this item to keep your smoothie, ice water or cocktail cold. --Beach chairs are plentiful. While it's fine to get up early and claim a seat, don't be that chair hog-- rising at 5:30am to claim 6 chairs, (dropping toys or other junk on them) so that your friends/family can sleep till noon or not show up all day. Everyone wants to have a great vacation and most of the guests we have encountered are courteous and thoughtful. --Shared taxi vans (bring cash) are waiting right outside the airport to take you to your hotel. Pricing at this time is $28 one-way. Again, tips are not required but certainly appreciated. The resort will also arrange for your taxi back to the airport upon check-out. --Check out the Fish Fry on Thursday nights, just a short 15-minute walk from the resort. There is music, food, dancing and a Junkanoo band parade. A fun diversion.

My husband Zack and I booked our trip to TCI for our honeymoon in December 2023 right after our wedding and wow… no regrets here!! Immediately on arrival we met the nicest staff which included our favorite, Vonnie. Vonnie went out of her way to make sure we had the most memorable trip in Turks. The food was AMAZING and the bars were fully stocked with our favorite liquor. We now know why they call this the best beach in the world, because I truly don’t know how it can be topped. The resort has a plethora of chairs at the beach and activities included in the stay. Do NOT miss out on going to Blue Haven while you’re there either! All in all this became our favorite place. We will be back as soon as we can!

Our 5th time staying at the Alexandra Resort on Turks & Caicos. 20 minutes from airport, best location on Grace Bay beach, an all inclusive hotel but with better food and drinks than other all inclusives. The hotel is gorgeous, the rooms spacious and clean, the friendliest and most accommodating staff. Plenty of beach chairs and water activities. You too will go back year after year!

We had a good time at the Alexandra Resort, met a lot of people, and enjoyed the beautiful sand beach and blue water. This is our first time not going to an all Adult Resort, because they were all booked! We have been to an all adult resort in the Turks & Caicos and loved it, however it is fully booked until May!!! So, as the Alexandra had availability, we gave it a go. There were lots of families and an abundance of children! We had a very bad start to the vacation. When we departed the plane we were on our own to try and find our shuttle to the resort. We were then told by a woman at the airport to "take this taxi", so we did. When we arrived at the resort I handed the driver a tip only to be told "thank you for the tip, now I need the $28.00 taxi fee. We were then told the Resort does not have a shuttle service. Once we went into the lobby (and as others said in their reviews it surely wasn't a grand lobby, but rather a counter in a room where you might go to rent a car or pay for your oil change) we were handed a damp cloth and told to go up to the counter. The representative first couldn't find us in the computer, then we were told that the room we requested through our travel agent was not available. Check in time is 3:00 p.m., we got our room just before 5 p.m. After awhile we asked to speak to a manager, who was friendly and apologized for the delay (the people behind the counter were not friendly, but rather dismissive and really didn't seem to care). Once we got our room with our luggage - our vacation started. The staff in all of the restaurants, bar staff, and the entertainers were fantastic. So were the staff who cleaned and freshened the rooms each day. The beach area is absolutely gorgeous and there were lots of available lounge chairs. Nightly entertainment kept us up dancing, and laughing at the Karaoke. Mostly everyone was friendly and seemed to be having a good time. I'm sure children and their parents slept well at night after a day at the ocean in the hot sun. The day before we were leaving the resort we went over to the lobby to request a wake-up call and to have a cart pick up our luggage before our taxi was to arrive (our travel agent ended up speaking to the Air Canada Vacations representative who promptly called us to know taxi arrangements were all set for our departure). We did not get a wake-up call (thank goodness we woke up on time to prepare to leave in the morning), nor did a shuttle show up, so we walked over with our luggage. If we didn't have the problems with the check-in/out staff we would have rated our stay a 4. Unfortunately the staff at the desk made both our arrival and departure difficult and unfriendly. Management should take a hard look at their staffing. A good first impression will make your guests feel welcomed.

Pros: The size of the resort is perfect. The beach is absolutely gorgeous! Plenty of seating at the beach as well as the pool. The entire resort was exceptionally clean and well maintained. We were there during Valentine's Day. The resort went all out with decorations and entertainment. It was so much fun! Staff: The front desk and housekeeping staff were always friendly and eager to please. However, we found most of the bartenders to be extremely rude, even when not busy. Our favorite employees were Marjorie, Kimberly and Sylvie. They always greeted us with a smile. Cons: The food was good, but nothing spectacular.

I had a great experience at the Alexandra Resort. The entire staff was so friendly. Customer service from the check-in, front desk, housekeeping, grounds people, transportation and restaurant was great. The beach views were amazing. The beach was not overcrowded. There were plenty of Beach chairs and umbrellas. It was such a relaxing vibe during the day and entertaining at night (weekend nights). The room I stayed in was nice, but could use a few upgrades/renovations. It did have a sour smell when you walked in from the outside. I assume it was something in the sink/sewer. Overall, we have a great time and did not want to leave. I want to say a special thanks to some of the staff at the restaurants/bars: Gloria, Sudion, Corey Lee, Ricar, Georgiana, Farrah, Winston and Keisha. You all were amazing. Thank you for your excellent service.

I had a great experience at the Alexandra Resort. The entire staff was so friendly from the check-in, front desk, housekeeping, grounds people, transportation and restaurant. The resort was not crowded when we 1st arrived; which was on a Wednesday, By Friday it was a little more crowded but comfortable. We had amazing views of the beach and the beach chairs and umbrellas behind the resort were plentiful. It was very peaceful not too loud or packed. The room I stayed in was nice but could use a few upgrades/renovations but other than that it was nice. It did have a sour smell when you walked in from the outside, I assume it may be something in the sink/sewer. We really hate that we had to leave. Now I want to take a moment to say a special thanks to the staff at the Asu Restaurant. Gloria, Sudion, Corey Lee, Ridcar, Georgiana, Farrah, Winston and Keisha were all amazing and thank you for your service.
