Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We stayed here for an overnight stay before heading on a cruise. It’s not that close to the port but handy for us coming from a distance. The hotel itself is lovely and clean and the staff are very friendly. We had dinner included in our stay which was lovely and breakfast was fresh and tasty as well. The room was spacious and clean and the beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay again

Fabulous views from the restaurant. Breakfast and dinner were very tasty and staff in all areas were very friendly. Room was very clean and the bed and pillows very comfortable. We stayed here as we were heading to Bournemouth airport the next morning. Would definitely go there again! Thank you,

Booked a last minute overnight stay in the family room as weather wiped out our camping trip! Hotel was lovely and clean and all the staff members we met were lovely and helpful - special mention to Ashley on reception who was welcoming, professional and friendly throughout. Room was really spacious and was excellent value for the 4 of us. Pool was lovely and clean but only downsides were the sauna, pool fountain and rowing machine were all out of action and didn’t look like they had been working for a while…family swim times are also very limited so worth checking if you want to use with kids. Breakfast was lovely and fresh with decent selection and very welcoming staff. Overall a really positive stay- thank you!

Stayed here recently on a golf trip with friends. Beautiful setting and a really good challenging course. Hotel rooms spotlessly clean. Bar and restaurant very good indeed. Staff in all parts of the resort were helpful and friendly. Very good value and would definitely visit again.

We decided to give this place another chance after being slightly disappointed last time with the room choice. I am so glad we did. I really don’t think you will find anywhere with friendlier staff, everyone we encountered was just lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. The spa is heaven. I spent the whole day by the pool while my husband played golf and we both had such a good time. We both indulged in massages and they were sublime. So good my husband had two! Thank you to Laura, the spa manager for those. The jacuzzi was bliss and I burnt off a few calories in the pool so I could indulge in my lovely evening meal! It’s a shame the sauna and steam rooms are currently out of action but these things can’t be helped. The spa room just feels so lovely with lots of comfy beds to lounge on and the sun streaming in. It has a lovely bright, airy feel. We were in room seven which had a lovely big bed and a really good shower. We will definitely be back. Very soon if I get my way!

The Bentleys restaurant at golf club we went for Sunday lunch very disappointed Yorkshire puddings like rocks potatoes not very crisp veg some cold hard parsnips unfortunately can not recommend. Earlier in the week we were at their spikes bar for lunch and the food came out cold. Think they need to check out the kitchens here if they want to encourage people to return

Searched for a hotel to stay at with my 3 boys after attending a wedding not far away. 2/3 children had never stayed in a hotel so wanted to go somewhere special. The pool sold us. Had a few queries after booking and the staff were so helpful and reassuring. We arrived a little later than expected. But nothing was any trouble. I thought we were getting a large room but it was actually a little cottage suite. It was magnificent and my children did not want to leave. There was so much room and the beds were all very comfortable (yes we tried them all) The pool was amazing as was the breakfast even thou the weather was not the best. We will definitely be returning Thank you all so much for making our stay so enjoyable

I visited here with my mum for a Mother’s Day treat, the spa was very disappointing compared to previous visits. The pool was freezing! The jacuzzi was freezing! And the steam room and sauna were not working. We spent £39 laying on a lounger and staring at a cold pool! The tea was ok, the cakes smelt a bit funny which put me off. The staff were fantastic! Couldn’t fault them at all. It was just a very disappointing visit. I had raised these concerns with the spa on their facebook page and emailed the hotel, neither have been acknowledged! If the hotel is saving money by not having these facilities working then guests should be made aware of this before booking. At least we are then aware of what we are spending our money on!

I came to the Dudsbury with my daughter for a Morhers Day treat - afternoon tea & 2hr spa use. It went off to a brilliant start - a gorgeous afternoon tea: freshly made, melt-in- the-mouth sandwiches, generous, tasty scones & a selection of 6 different delicious mini cakes & tarts. The gentleman who served us, Mick, was superb - extremely polite & attentive - regularly checking on our well-being & requirements. We were, however, disappointed with our spa experience afterwards. Although the pool area & jacuzzi looked lovely, our experience was spoiled because: both the sauna & steam room were out of use; the pool was decidedly “fresh” & the jacuzzi was not much warmer! Such a disappointment! We ended-up spending the vast majority of our time just sitting on the loungers! Come on Dudsbury - we all know there’s a cost of living crisis but guests expect warm water in the spa area - especially in the jacuzzi!
