I received a very warm welcome when I arrived.
My room was comfortable and exceptionally cleaned and disinfected I felt every measure had been taken to keep their guests safe during the pandemic.

I will be staying at the Bridge House Hotel a few times a month due to business commitments.

We stayed at the Bridge House Hotel because it is close to Bournemouth Airport which is only a ten minute drive away. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a river view room which was very quiet and overlooked the river and water meadows. We had the carvery dinner which was very good value, as was the full English breakfast. Bar prices reasonable - try the hotel bitter! Room was clean and, unlike a lot of hotel bedrooms these days, had excellent lighting. The hotel offers free parking for two weeks, even if you stay for only one night. Good for a short stay visit.

Due to unforeseen circumstances in our family, our trip to Dorset for a bereavement was not a welcome one. The Bridge House Hotel was chosen based on previous posted feedback and location, it did not disappoint.

Staff: Very friendly, attentive and very polite.

Bedroom with balcony: Very clean and tidy with a lovely sized bed ( extremely Comfortable) hairdryer in drawer, iron, tea and coffee, with complimentary biscuits. Complimentary small bottle of wine and still and sparkling water. Remote controlled tv, free view channels only but more than sufficient for viewing. Leather couch as a mini lounge area was a nice touch and was located by the french doors with views looking out over the river and surrounding views. It is to be noted, although this hotel is located close to the A31 Ringwood trunk road, no road noise could be heard with the doors open.
A couple of negatives, there is no air conditioning and no USB ports for phone charging, but nevertheless isn’t necessarily a necessity.

Restaurant: A nice little restaurant with river views, a good selective menu and reasonably priced. Food that was ordered ( an evening meal) was piping hot, on hot plates and very generous, a rare finding in these times. The food was delicious and cooked to our liking.
Breakfast was of the same standard, a good selection of cereals, a continental choice, or a full English were available. Plus copious amounts of tea, coffee and juice.

Due to our sad circumstance for visiting this hotel, staying here helped us to unwind from our long journey in a comforting and welcoming way.

This hotel is worthy of my feedback for the professionalism of the staff and service provided and even more so, post lockdown and the pandemic.

A big thank you to the management and staff for making our stay a memorable one.

Highly recommended.

We stayed in the Bridge House hotel as a couple in June for 5 days. The hotel overall was okay, it was a good location to get to nearby attractions. The Tank Museum, Swanage, Durdle Door, Bournemouth were all a 20-45 minutes drive.
Hotel room was small and the décor a bit outdated, especially the bathroom, but it was alright as we just used the hotel as a base.
We paid extra for a river side room, which I would recommend as the hotel is right next to a busy road and the traffic can be loud.
Pros: good location to get to other places.
Cons: the walls were paper thin, could hear people talking and snoring in the room next to ours; bed was alright but not especially comfortable; the room could have been cleaner (towels weren't clean either) and we didn't get hand towels only 2 bath towels.
(On our 3rd day we asked for new towels, due to COVID there is no cleaning in the rooms but the receptionist left the clean towels on the floor in the hallway which is not hygienic, could have put the towels in a bag at least).
We didn't eat the hotel restaurant, but everything else is driving distance so keep this in mind when booking.

Overall the hotel was okay but for the price (£107/night) I would expect more and also the lady in the reception was not very friendly.

Good morning, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you found the room to be a little dated; all of our hotel rooms were fully refurbished in 2019 and are regularly touched up by our Painter and Decorator. We are also very sorry that the rooms were not as clean as they could have been, please contact us directly via info@thebridgehousehotel.co.uk with the cleanliness issues and we will have these looked into immediately by our Executive Housekeeper. We will make sure our reception team are aware that they need to put fresh towels on a protective surface if they are leaving them outside the room, rather than on the floor. Hopefully we can look forward to welcoming you back again soon for another chance.

The whole experience was very good, the room was all I expected and the food was very palatable and reasonably priced, the breakfast was superb value for money. The staff were friendly and the bar stayed open til midnight.
The weather was terrible but expectable for February, but the location was great and very picturesque and there is a really good antique shop next door which is open every day and has a coffee room as well.

Had a nice room but bathroom was very disappointing, there was mould on the ceiling and by the shower screen. Getting in and out of the shower is slippery they could do with fixing a hand rail on the wall or better still doing away with the bath and making a walk in shower would be more practical.
We had an evening meal on arrival the waitress ask if we wanted a drink I asked for two glasses of coke we were served two pints of coke. Perhaps she should of asked large or small. I put that down to lack of training by the management. All I can say about the neal was it was nothing to write home about.
Breakfast was rubbish the bacon wasn't very nice at all and the sausages were as hard as nails. The best thing were the Cornflakes they come in an unopened box so could not be mucked around with.
All in all its a shame because I really used to like visiting this hotel but will think twice next time.

Recently visited mid week with the family for a meal, first time visiting. After ordering drinks they were served by the waitress who was holding the glasses over the top, covid no covid, I do not want people’s hands over my glass where I’m to drink from. This is basic waitress and hygiene training and made me feel very anxious.
This review has no reflection on the food as it was nice, ice cream tasted a bit funny and felt it was overpriced for what it was.

When we arrived the guy at reception had exceptional customer service skills. He was extremely personable, friendly and offered advice and info about the hotel. He mentioned that they were hosting a wedding that day but advised that we had been booked into a reiver view twin room at the other end of the hotel. Still being a little nervous about potential noise disturbance, after our family dinner at a local restaurant, we retired at about 11.00. Absolutely no worries at all about noise we didn't hear a thing. Overall the hotel offered great value for money - room/ bathroom quite basic but beds and pillows great, it was clean, warm and a lovely view of the river. Would definitely stay here again

Stayed here one night as a stop over for an early morning flight from Bournemouth airport.
This hotel has a lovely setting and warm atmosphere, our room was budget but certainly clean and tidy, also comfortable.
The staff were attentive and approachable in every area, our evening meal was prepared and served very well and also value for its cost.
Unfortunately didn't get to sample breakfast but could imagine it was as good as evening meal, all in all i would highly recommend this hotel what ever your plans may be.
Well done everyone involved, keep it up.

Lovely clean hotel, with a decent sized room and bathroom. Great views at the rear of the hotel over a river. We were met by a really helpful chap at the desk who let me charge my electric car overnight for free🙏
Would definitely use this hotel again.
