Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Colthrop Manor is a beautiful B&B. Impeccably clean and tidy, super comfortable beds and soft bedding. Our room was en-suite which was stylish and shower was great. Best place for relaxing! Highly recommend ❤️

Great couple of nights, ideal base for surrounding area and Newbury racecourse. Hosts couldn't be more accommodating with any requests and information about local area. Wouldn't have know about the walk through the woods to the local pub which we very much enjoyed. Rooms spacious and clean with everything needed - tea making facilities, tv, etc. Breakfast was very enjoyable and cooked to order. Lovely grounds and views. Will return.

We had an unexpected opportunity to have family come stay last weekend but with a sick dog at home, we didn't want them sleeping here. Colthrop Manor B&B was absolutely the next best thing, with a genuinely warm and friendly welcome from Roseanne, both in person and when booking. We're delighted to have found them and will be sending more friends and family here in future (almost wish we lived further away so that we could go stay there ourselves!).

The Colthrop Manor was a last minute booking which was fairly local to a meeting I was attending. The photos on the website looked nice and they were certainly true to life. Tucked away up a long, dark track but well signed, I arrived early November evening so was a little unsure of directions. On arrival I was warmly greeted and dealt with in lovely rustic reception room/hallway. Then shown to a beautiful triple bedded ensuite room. The room was tastefully decorated with small en-suite shower room both of which were spotless. There was full tea/coffee making facilities with bottled water as well. Good wi-fi and digital tv was also a plus point. The shower room was clean and well fitted and came with complimentary shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The bedding was of fantastic quality and was incredibly soft with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was cooked to order with the addition of a good choice of cereals. The cooked element was lovely :-) All in all this B & B can only be described as a gem and made a pleasant change from the corporate hotels I usually stay in with stunning views. Keep up the great work - I hope to stay again.

We had a Three Days Business Seminar with my Tiens Super Star team at Easter, starting on Friday 30 March, 2018 and finished on Sunday. We are so happy to have found this place, not expensive, but up to a high standard. This B&B house can accommodate 15 people. An Excellent opportunity to work together as a team, quiet place, warm and clean rooms and very pleasant enviroment. The owner is very kind and understanding, he provided us with everything we needed. There is a big TV which we used for our presentation, a specious dining room which we used as a training room. I highly recommend it for team building event. You will find everything you need.

We stayed here for two nights either side of a friends wedding. The house is a renovated farm house on what appears to be a working farm. Absolutely beautiful house and wonderful surrounding areas. The hosts were lovely and very helpful. I was even very kindly lent some shoes when I managed to forget them for the wedding. The only shame was at the end when we came to check out and found that breakfast was actually not included in the price. There was just some confusion around the communication and advertisement. However, overall we had a lovely stay. The rooms are nice, we stayed in the deluxe double. This has ensuite with a shower and nice views over the countryside.
