Such a beautiful Inn in a nice rural area. We popped through for Sunday dinner and the staff were very friendly and constantly on the go. The Sunday dinner was lovely but I had to point out there was no crackling on my plate which was quickly resolved. There wasn't a lot of meat

This is a 17th century, old wordly hotel, cosy but not chic, quintessentially traditional but not quaint. Our room, Caldbeck was large, with plenty of seating and a Queen size comfortable bed. All very tastefully decorated but showings little signs of wear and tear in places.

You can access the lake very easily, a 10/15 minute walk. But a slightly longer walk to get to an area where you can walk and/or sit by the shore. It is a big lake.

The Pheasant Inn is 1600 century coaching Inn and all the bedrooms are on the first floor. There is a no lift, so I would say it wasn't appropriate for a wheel chair user. However, there is a toilet on the ground floor for wheel chairs users close to the bar and dining room. I hope this helpful.
